EVERYDAY: Sophie’s 1st Birthday

My Fourth Goddaughter. I feel old. Meet Anne Marie’s Daughter.:)

Oops. Although you have to settle with our faces since I don’t actually have Sophie’s Picture. Haha. We were late. And I think babies see through me (that I don’t actually like kids) — that’s why they do cry relentlessly when I try to carry them.

3 months ago, my brother gave me a set of movies he downloaded.
This was one of them. I was eager to finish this set because I want new ones.

Anyway, the movie is about a prodigy kid who is inclined to being the Math Wiz.
His father died when he was a kid and as he grows older, it hunts him and it affects his relationship with his mother.
Being the self proclaimed Math Wiz that he is, he landed a place in the British Squad for the
International Mathematics Olympiad Competition.

I felt that the movie was a bit dragging. The kid shows no emotion toward his mother
or to anyone. The ending reveals that he blocked any kind of emotions after his father died.
But as he progressed in the competition, he was able to meet several friends, a mentor and a girl.
Ha! Girls really have a significant effect on any man’s life, huh? (Thank you, Thank you).

Nathan: I think, I see the world differently to others.
Dad:       It’s all about adaptability, Nathan. Sometimes you have to change your shape, to fit in.

Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend this. Even on  a passing time.

This day begins my 7 day adventure in yet, another school that would hopefully bring me new knowledge and better understanding. I enrolled in Lasallé’s SPACE Program, specifically in Marketing Management, under the module Customer Relationship Management.

I want to further enhance my knowledge on Marketing. Ergo, I should not let all the swarming butterflies hinder me from discovering new things and meeting new people. But man, I had serious first day jitters from the strands of my hair to my big toes. :/ whew!

Yes, I maybe enrolled in AGSB but I shouldn’t let it stop me from seizing another opportunity! :)) Plus, the LOML is with me, taking another course in Human Resource – Labor Relations. 🙂

“There are a million rules for being a girl. There are a million things you have to do to get through each day. High school has things that can trip you up, ruin you, people say one thing and mean another, and you have to know all the rules, you have to know what you can and can’t do.”

CAMERAFrom where we stand, I can still remember how this used to be ‘the’ spot. The spot where we used to oggle our crushes, spot who’s with whom, bitch about someone we know and so on. I had a different group of friends back then. Our group was pretty famous in our campus. Some would say it was probably because we were composed of the school heartrobs, both pink and blue lesbians, some would say because we were the rule breakers, some would say because it was our connection with the higher batches, some would say we are nice but that would depend on who you were talking to.

CAMERAI can still remember how we would hide our mobile phones under this wooden platform, or inside the cabinet at the back of this blackboard or toss it outside the window when the teacher is approaching. I can still remember how class presidents would write, noisy, standing, quiet was once listed in the board. I can remember how some lunch breaks would be spent in our sandos and pantylets lying on top of each other in the floor, or playing cards and pusoy dos during lunch breaks.

CAMERAI can still remember how days are filled with receiving and giving at least three letters to friends with pet names such as ‘star’ or ‘cheatmate’ or ‘kisses’ when really, we were just with each other before the class. I can still remember how in between class breaks, all of the students are at the corridor, spotting their crushes in subtle moves or how one student asks about three to four other students to accompany her to pee, or how we would go to the corridor of the higher batches and chat or how we would sneak out to the cafeteria and stay there for hours skipping our classes, how a trip to other rooms for a class function such as computer lab or science lab means a chance to do the cat walk because you know other classes are going to see you.

It’s so nice to actually see the people who I buy from every afternoon since I was in Grade three. They’ve seen me grow up. They’ve seen me graduate from Gradeschool and Highschool. And they’re still here. The streets outside school feels like home whenever you see a familiar face. And it’s also overwhelming to know that they do remember your name after 8 years.

And to my Fourth Year Adviser, and to all the professors who has molded me when I was in High School, I can definitely say that now, I can finally appreciate all the times you scolded me for wearing hanging and short blouses, a long skirt, a very short small folded socks, for walking too slowly, for having secret pocket inside our necktie, for brushing my hair during class, for wearing wide jugging pants, for not attending practices during intrams and for always being late during flag ceremony. It’s funny how students used to hate teachers for always noticing their wrongdoings when in fact, they’re just trying to make you a better person.

High School will always be in my heart and memory, all the friends, professors, lessons and every bit of story, a piece of puzzle i will always want to solve.

“Sometimes I think high school is one long hazing activity: if you are tough enough to survive this, they’ll let you become and adult. I hope it’s worth it.” It is.

Right after doing our business at school for the enrollment, Maf suggested that we eat here first. I am familiar with the store since I always see people holding a black cup with the Dean & Delucca logo in front. So I said yes!

They are located at Rockwell, just across the Mango Store in Powerplant.

They are famous for their pastries and coffee. But since this is already brunch, we opted to skip the pastries.  IMG_4087While waiting for our orders. It’s a good thing the waiters are accommodating – we then can abuse them for taking our pictures. Haha.

Naturally, the drinks come first. So here’s Maf’s drink – Strawberry Soda. It has real strawberries in it. They both said it was really good. I didn’t try it though since I hate anything with berries.

Alex always want soup with her sandwiches. So she ordered this Mushroom Soup.

And being a Milkshake Lover that I am, I ordered the Cookies & Cream Milkshake It was GLO-RI-OUSS. It was thick and sweet and tasted everything you’d want to taste in a Cookies and Cream Milkshake – just as how it should be.

Alex also ordered a Milkshake which is equally good. This is Peanut Butter Banana Milkshake.

IMG_4114 IMG_4116

This is Roasted Pulled Pork and Coleslaw in Turkish Pide for Php 380 It’s a bit pricey for a sandwich but if you’re after the taste and you’re going to just try it once, this is good. There is enough meat in the sandwich, it’s not pretenrious like some restaurants who place all the meat on the sides just to make it seem like overflowing. This isn’t it. Though, you might want some alternative to wash out the taste.

Mfaf’s order was Cuban Sourdough bread for Php 420. They were both raving about it but when I tasted it, I didn’t like it one bit. I actually wanted to spit it out as it tasted like a mild wasabi. It has pulled pork too and if you’re into wasabi, you can probably order this as the serving is generous. It also comes with chips.

The girlies are out for lunch! :)) I’ll bring Judey here for the Milkshake that he was jealous of. Bahaha.

No matter how many semesters I finish, I will always dread First Days. :/ It’s nice to meet new people who may eventually be good friends, but being in a room where you don’t know absolutely anyone frightens me. I was 40 minutes late on the first day. To add to my misfortune, I didn’t even know what room our class was. I had to ask from the registrar and upon reaching the room, THERE WAS NO GODDAMN CLASS that day. Goodness! So anyway, I attended a different class – a subject I already finished. Like a thief, I manipulated Roumel’s Professor to take me in.

First Saturday Class with Alex on the right. I was wearing the dress she gave me and she was also wearing the necklace I gave her. Talk about being twins right? It was a good thing the professor allowed Alex and Maf to transfer their schedule to his class. I think, and hopefully will make the most out of this subject.

On the side note, I realized that I will have 4 absences on his class. I hope he doesn’t drop me out. :/
