EAT BGC: COCINA PERUVIA

I’ll always choose to go to a new place. Luckily, there’s something within the vicinity of our sale event. We asked what their best sellers are and….. it sure was!! 😀

The place was vibrant, pefect for their 24/7 service concept.

We ordered the Chorizo con Pasta for Php 250 – Pomodoro sauce, olives, chorizo, cilantro and parmesan)

LRM_EXPORT_42793032828777_20180831_133901844LRM_EXPORT_42903894651788_20180831_134052706

You have to take note though that I’m definitely not a chorizo type of girl but dannngg, this one won my <3!! It was absolutely delicious!

We also ordered Pasta Verde for Php 250 – Chicken, Cilantro, Lemon and Parmesan)

LRM_EXPORT_42959823283398_20180831_134148635LRM_EXPORT_43001892534293_20180831_134230704

It was a bit dry — bbut probably it’s because of all the parmesan but I still find it a bit bland. I liked the chorizo better.

For pizza, we ordered the Pizza Peruvia for Php 390 – Marinara and BBQ Sauce, BBQ Pulled Pork, Onions, bell peppers, mozarella cheese, chimichurri and arugula

LRM_EXPORT_42707806430403_20180831_133736618LRM_EXPORT_42758457541344_20180831_133827269

Let me tell you that yes, it looked absolutely normal, standard but heyyy! that chihmuchurri as an additional topping made it their best sellers. ❤

LRM_EXPORT_42653181549044_20180831_133641993LRM_EXPORT_42546086578826_20180831_133454898

It will definitely not be my last! I will take the boyfriend here. ❤ Good job, cocina!

EAT BGC: PASTO

He wanted wine, and wine we had. It’s already a given that we have to eat pasta so we head to Pasto. There were no customers so we happily chose a seat next to the window.

Ghamberi Pasta – Php 265

LRM_EXPORT_12944891684587_20180901_190221384LRM_EXPORT_12981305117021_20180901_190257798

IT’s an olive oil based fetuccine with garlic sauteed shrimps, asparagus spears and fresh diced tomatoes.

The pasta wasn’t dry but i think it lacked a bit of taste. I also asked for additional parmesan, and they obliged with no additional charge. I was happy about that. 🙂

Margherita Pizza – Php 215

LRM_EXPORT_13049216944179_20180901_190405710LRM_EXPORT_13076773107317_20180901_190433266

Classic italian combination of fresh tomatoes, mozarella and basil.

Hmm. It’s okay. It’s how you’d imagine a margherita pizza should be but there was no oomph.

LRM_EXPORT_13120930151754_20180901_190517423

Lamadoro Bianco

Straw yellow color with golden reflections , intense aroma, fruity with citrus notes.

LRM_EXPORT_13179763209491_20180901_190616256

I probably had high expectations of the place thus leaving me with regret.

Don’t be mistaken. The food and service is okay. But I just expected more.

EAT MAKATI: MIGHTY QUINN

Now that we’ve tried parking in powerplant and walking all the way to poblacion, the plan is to chase all the new restaurants there BUT since there was a heavy downpour, we blamed the risk of having wet and dirty shoes, we stayed inside the mall.

Good thing, Mighty Quinn saves the day! Have you tried going around the new wing? This one is near Mary Grace and the newly opened and first sit down-stall of Carmen’s Best.

LRM_EXPORT_20180817_201604

Might Quinn as you might have heard is one of most raved coming from the acclaimed New York City and cooks the traditional way with wood and with patience of time.

LRM_EXPORT_20180817_201548

LRM_EXPORT_20180817_201359

LRM_EXPORT_20180811_142614
Almond Lychee Bingsu – about to be launched
You cannot go here and not try Bingsu cause why the hell are you there in the first place, right? You cannot judge them by their rice meals, I have to be honest though – it’s not that great though it’s not awful at the same time. But if you are looking for something worth your buck? then you can definitely order their rice meals. It is packed with rice and energy and all the carbohydrates in the world.
The shaved ice is full of flavor already. You can actually order the ice and you’d still be pleased! Take note, I don’t eat anything berry but wow. we were able to finish all three. ❤ Good Job, Seol!

EAT MAKATI: EBI 10

We had troubles finding his place but if you know where Tambai is, just go straight and you’ll find this gem at the farthest end.
20180810_180828
The place is a but cramped and can sit about 10 – 20 people at a time, 10 with tables and 10 at the counter where it’s also a good spot since you can see your food being prepared.
20180810_180819
They have their menu at per piece so you if you really want to dive in and try their whole menu at an affordable price, you can. ❤
20180811_063302
Small Shrimps at Php 45
They are at a decent size already, not too small and full of flavor already.
Jumbo Shrimps at Php 120
The size is big but not extraordinarily giant in size.
LRM_EXPORT_20180810_223800
Kani Tempura at Php 30
I’ve always loved deep fried crab sticks just like how we do it at home.
Beef and Mango Tempura at Php 60
Strangely unique and a mix of salty and sweetness. I’d prefer if it was not wrapped in seaweed. I would have enjoyed it much better. Thus, the boyfriend took me out of my misery of being guilty since I was the one who wanted to try this one.
LRM_EXPORT_20180810_223738
Ebi 10 Chahan Rice at Php 150
Of course we tried the fried rice named after the restaurant because you cannot pass that up. Right? It’s good for sharing but I think the portion sizing is good for 1.5 only.
LRM_EXPORT_20180810_223615
I will definitely come back. I’m always up for deep fried seafood goodness. ❤
LRM_EXPORT_20180810_223522

EAT MAKATI: ZUBUCHON

For months since they opened, I have been requesting the boyfriend to bring me here. And traitor as he is, he went here without me on his time. TSSS. And much as his conscience can take, he finally brought me here.

They have parking lots ready for the hungry beavers so don’t fret. The place is spacious too and has lots of tables and can sit about 60 to 80, I guess. We got here at about 11:30 am and we were one of the first tables before it got crowded.

Since I am really not a big fan of lechon skin and bones in general, I pleaded to order the Boneless Lechon.

LRM_EXPORT_20180805_174538

Boneless Lechon, Small – Php 320 BUT I still tried the skin. It was nice and crispy. Meat was full of taste. It’s paired dip, soy sauce + vinegar with onions and chili. But I also prefer what they call liver sauce but tastes much like Mang Tomas. 😀

2017_0709_13430700

Baked Scallops – Php 250 Local scallops topped with butter, cheese and garlic. This has always been a favorite and glad the boyfriend liked it too! He even ate most of it. 😀 haha.

2017_0709_13413700

Ensaladang Talong – Php 150 Grilled Eggplant and Tomato salad with vinaigrette dressing. Because we are pretentious enough to order this to have something to balance the lechon. Who are we kidding? HAHA.

LRM_EXPORT_20180805_181102

No other than the person who I want to get highblood with. ❤ Thank you for ditching me on your first try and bringing me here, anyway.

P.S. I want to go back and try Paksiw na Zubuchon, Zubuchon Flakes, Sizzling Stuffed Squid, Tortang Alimasag, Gambas and Sinigang na lechon! ❤

EAT MAKATI: KAYA

When we want korean food but not in the mood to pig out — KAYA! It’s where we get our reliable dose of Beef Stew and Sizzling Squid. ❤

LRM_EXPORT_20180805_192038

CHULPAN OJINGO / Sizzling Garlic Squid for Php 265
This dish is looming with chili garlic! I can just top anything with their garlic. Squid is also tender and have zero bubble gum features.

LRM_EXPORT_20180805_192014

KALBI JIM / Beef Stew for Php 295
It’s the melts-in-your-mouth beef tenderness! I just wish that there are less bones. I’d rather have full meat. The sauce though is a viand on its own, pair it with rice? Suree!

LRM_EXPORT_20180805_181158

BOYFRIEND – Equally tender and yummy. 😀 HAHAHA.

EAT ALABANG: JUST THAI

It seems like I’ve been eating thai food pretty constant. Ain’t it? No complaints though.

Crispy Catfish Salad is simply THE BOMB. Always loved this one. ❤

2017_0417_14413100

Chicken Noodle Soup for Php 220 – I wasn’t able to try this but according to my sister, it works pretty well for her. 🙂

2017_0417_14420600

Tom Yum for Php 200 – It is generously lathered with Seafood and Chicken. (Seafood, Clams, Shrimp, Squid and Fish)

2017_0417_14431900

Moo Grob at Php 290 – Crispy Pork Belly.

2017_0417_14491500 Squid in Garlic at Php 320

Happy Mother’s Day to these two. ❤

EAT TAGAYTAY: LIME & BASIL

It’s our second time in here after about 2 years? But it’s always a good start. ❤ Let me just warn you that everything you are about to see is SO DAMN BLISSFULLY GOOD.

2017_0226_144110002017_0226_14412100

Fresh Spring Roll at Php 270 – Rolled herbs, carrot, cabbage, tofu, noodles with sweet chili relish. I sincerely cannot get enough of this. I can eat this whole damn thing and I’d still want more. The sauce pushes the oomph level.

2017_0226_144655002017_0226_14470300

Pad Thai at Php 350 I am not the most optimistic receiver of Pad Thai but the crispiness of this one pulls it off.

2017_0226_145046002017_0226_14505400

2017_0226_145103002017_0226_14510500

Tom Yum Goong at Php 410 – Hot and Sour Shrimps. I’m actually surprised that it’s not red. But it’s just as good. 🙂

2017_0226_145201002017_0226_14523000 Kaprao Nua at Php 410 – Stir fried beef in holy basil – It was really tender. It’s not woah but it’s not bad either.

2017_0226_15112800

Salt Crusted Tilapia at Php 450 – This one is TOO damn salty. I know this is supposed to be but it’s at a level where it fuckin hurts your tongue and your whole mouth.

2017_0226_145145002017_0226_14515000

Catfish Fried Rice at Php 380 We actually ordered Bagoong Rice too.

2017_0226_153829002017_0226_15145300

Lime and Basil is ❤

EAT MAKATI: 59C

I think this is our first time to try a restaurant not in Poblacion and I guess it’s safe to say, Good Job! 😀 This one is a good find!

20180510_132653(0)

The restaurant has a Brunchfast menu that is available all day and they also have your Build your own Plate for those who want their meals a little more specific to their taste. Here’s what we ordered:

I have no idea why 4 of us ordered the same food – Chicken Burrito at Php 260 – Yellow Rice, Egg, Sesame Slaw, Nacho, Sour Cream and Hot Sauce.

20180510_125036

The upside? It was a good choice. Each of them liked what they had on their plates.

Crispy Pork Belly at Php 300 – Fried Rice, Kropek, Honey Hoisin and Greens

20180510_125805

It has enough viand and meat was bite size. It’s the type where you would want more.

59c Chicken Tausi Asian Goreng – Php 280 – Fried Rice, Siomai, Fried Egg, Crispy Dilis, Peanuts and Kropek

20180510_130015

Let me just say it out there that it was pretty delicious although there is some room for improvement. One, they should ask how customers want their eggs. I’d like mine scrambled. I ended up giving my egg away. :/ Two, they did not serve siomai – it was a dumpling. If kitchen ran out, they should disclose it to the customer. Third, I know the chicken is cooked in Tausi but I’d prefer to have my chicken stay longer in the pan. It was a bit pale. Fourth, just my own preference (No Green Peas please and no cornick).

Power Bowl at Php 240 – Fried Rice, Seasonal vegetables and Fried Egg

20180510_130316

Much like my Asian Goreng, this one has the same rice with veggies mixed in there too. My officemate like it.

Overall? I am definitely coming back. ❤

EAT MAKATI: Hummus Elijah

Disclaimer: I’ve never eaten hummus before, I’m not an expert and I particularly am not fond of the food.. BUT I wanted to try. Heyyy, at least give me that. okay?

The space was a bit cramped and dark but it is very popular to foreigners. I think we were the only Filipinos eating there.

First off, I wanted a safe order so I tried the Hummus Elijah for I thought it’s a remarkable dish since it’s their signature.

20180502_122338 Hummus Elijah at Php 250 – Hummus with Tahini, Chicken Peas, Olive Oil, Herbs and Spices. For me, it was bland and so ordinary. It’s not even good (like you’ve placed butter on bread, and it’s not even butter! After my third bite, I said, Nah. I am not eating this. Blah. Don’t order this.

20180502_122853 Shakshuka at Php 200 – 2 eggs cooked in thick tomato sauce. This is slightly a bit better. I’m not a tomato person but the tomato saved this dish.

20180502_123318

Hamshuka at Php 290 – Hummus + Shakshuka with Spicy Sauce and Tahini

Out of the three dishes that we tried, this is probably the best. It’s not a winner but to compare, it’s the most decent one and a dish that I can probably finish.

BTW, All of the dishes are served with 2 Pita Breads.

20180502_122434

I’m getting the hang of Fake Smile. I managed to put on one when all I can think about is how I wasted my Php 250 for something I did not enjoy. Never again.

20180502_125826

EAT BF: RAMEN KURODA

When I was in the middle of my Strama Class, most weekends were spent at each other’s houses – writing my paper, editing my powerpoint, learning my financials and so on.. I’m just really grateful how helpful and understanding the boyfriend is when it comes to our dates — which is mostly spent in coffee shops with a laptop in tow.

So, one particular saturday – spent at my house doing strama — we decided to dine out for dinner at BF — Ramen Kuroda.

See their menu:

ramen kuroda

The boyfriend ordered the Gyoza + Aka Ramen for Php 320 since he likes the Gyoza.

20170819_183148(0)

While I, having no choice but to order the Teriyaki + Shiro Set for Php 320

20170819_183217

Since it’s so practical to order the Set Menu, we did. If you are planning to treat others, Ramen Kuroda is practical. 😀

EAT MAKATI: DONG WON

If you’re looking for a Korean Restaurant, there’s one along Jupiter Street right around the corner — DONG WON. It’s a meat shop slash restaurant. It smells a bit funky since the fresh meat is also where everyone dines.

20170811_21282720170811_212830

A little catching up with the bestfriend and the boyfriend.

EAT MAKATI: WHISK

This is not on my list — but the boyfriend was quick to suggest this (which happens rarely). Thus, I said yes immediately. 😛

20170708_131853

Let’s get straight to the food since I don’t have other pictures.

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki – Php 230 Grilled Quarter Leg glazed with their very own teriyaki sauce served with buttered vegetables

20170708_124543

Usually, I’m not amazed with Chicken Dishes – but I liked this one. And the boyfriend too, obviously. (this is his order)

Lechon Kawali – Php 350 Twice cooked pork belly and stir fry greens with pesto sauce.

20170708_124634

This was a first for me. The pesto sauce smelled appetizing. Although I didn’t know what it would taste like in a meat!!! Good thing I tried! It was S-O-O GOOD!

20170708_130102
