In this laidback neighborhood in Alabang, there’s this place called West Gate. In this, you’ll find secret gems that will feed your hungry palate. And by gem, I mean Da Gianni. ❤
We are having our late lunch on a Sunday at 2:00 pm and the restaurant was still almost full when we got there. I had to pick the one nearest the window for a good lighting. (hihi). The place looks posh with brick walls and wooden tables.
We were given the typical appetizer at first. ❤
We ordered Quattro Formaggi for Php 535 – Four Cheese topped with Truffles
I’ve had A LOT of Four Cheese pizzas in my life, it’s been a favorite variant of mine and this, I have to say is my favorite out of all my favorites. ❤ It’s just oozing with goodness.
We also ordered an Oil Based Pasta, Gambas Aglio Olio for Php 450 – Olive oil and garlic
The Chef had to improvise. If you see their menu, they don’t really have an aglio olio dish with shrimps but we requested it. The Chef happily obliged. We just asked that we be informed of the cost first. And they definitely delivered. The pasta is PERFECT. ❤ Good is an understatement. Every bite is heavenly. ❤ ❤ ❤
With this, we also ordered 2 Wines by the Glass, Trebbiano D Abbruzzo Doc, a sweet white wine for me and Rosato Salento, a rose for the husband.
A perfect lunch to end our weekend. Definitely not our last. ❤
My husband has been raving about this place for so long and I’ve been pitching it to my colleagues about the same time but we never really gotten around to it with our limited lunch time of 1 hour.
BUT, Lo and behold. . We were given an opportunity when we had a field meeting! But it was only the two of us. It’s a good thing that we arrived at around 2:00 pm already. The place was almost full with 1 reserved table. What more during lunch time, right?
Penne Pasta with Mixed Vegetables for Php 365
Cherry Tomatoes, Zucchini, Asparagus, French Beans and Carrots with extra virgin oil, basil and garlic sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
Okay! I didn’t think I would like it. Although I only had a taste of it. It’s my friend’s order. I recently discovered french beans and It’s pretty legit. If I were to go back, I will order this. ❤
Fried Chicken Nibblers for Php 295
Crispy chicken bites served with Nono’s home style waffles or fries on the side.
My order is part of the Kid’s Menu. I didn’t really want something heavy since I was planning to wait for my hubby from work at a coffee shop. So I ordered from the kid’s section. But the portion was good enough for me. It comes with Orange juice too and with pulp. 😛 I was looking forward for the fries but their waffles are good too. Even the maple syrup! Usually, I find a lot of maple syrups too sweet – but this one is something else. ❤
I would love to go back and try their viands. I liked both of our orders. ❤ Recommendable! The husband is right.
The place is open and surrounded by glass. It’s lit with sun so the entire place is bright, which is why I also like it. ❤ We had a reservation that’s why we were able to get a table. I suggest you do the same because while we were there, there’s a couple of groups which they had to turn down because the place was full and tables were already reserved.
Anyway, so we ordered a LOT. It seems like all Filipinos are – we are afraid to go hungry. 😀
Paella Negra for Php 690
Thanks to my husband, this is now one of my favorite food to order anywhere. I’m glad that the serving of seafood is very generous. The calamari was still crispy and the actual squid is not gummy and not just flour. The paella is flavorful unlike some where it tends to get bland. Love, love, love this. ❤
Pasta del Parmigiano Pasta (Parmigiano Wheel) for Php 520
I didn’t get to taste this but according to my sister and brother in law, they really liked this. I think the serving can be for 2-3 if you ordered other food to go with this.
Tomato Cream Spaghetti Al Gambheri for Php 825
4 Stagioni for Php 485
This is basically veggie pizza – Tomato based topped with artichokes and mushrooms. This is a no for me. I’m definitely not their customer.
Carnivora for Php 550
Pollo Al Mattone for Php 720
There’s a lot of food I didn’t get to try. I apologize. 😛 Hahaha. BUT, a lot of good feedback.
Serving is good for groups. ❤ Next time, I’ll stick to pasta and paella. ❤ Happy Birthday to me! ❤
He wanted wine, and wine we had. It’s already a given that we have to eat pasta so we head to Pasto. There were no customers so we happily chose a seat next to the window.
Ghamberi Pasta – Php 265
IT’s an olive oil based fetuccine with garlic sauteed shrimps, asparagus spears and fresh diced tomatoes.
The pasta wasn’t dry but i think it lacked a bit of taste. I also asked for additional parmesan, and they obliged with no additional charge. I was happy about that. 🙂
Margherita Pizza – Php 215
Classic italian combination of fresh tomatoes, mozarella and basil.
Hmm. It’s okay. It’s how you’d imagine a margherita pizza should be but there was no oomph.
Straw yellow color with golden reflections , intense aroma, fruity with citrus notes.
I probably had high expectations of the place thus leaving me with regret.
Don’t be mistaken. The food and service is okay. But I just expected more.
Just a couple of steps from my office, you’ll see whitebrass in the streets of Jupiter.
Some quiet and comfy restaurant enough for a cozy date night with my frood. ❤
Pork Jowl Crisps (Php 150) – Deep Fried Pork – Can you imagine small portions of bagnet? Well, try this one and you’ll find out. ❤
BBQ Chicken (Php 250) – Grilled Chicken Fillet / Calamansi based BBQ with Roasted Garlic Rice. This one is a keeper. ❤ I liked this dish.
Shrimp and Olives (Php 275) Shrimp, Olives and Anchovies – Let’s just say we have a winner on our table! Everything that we ordered right here is worth the money.
It’s not news when I tell you that it’s traffic in Makati. Right? Ergo, Dinner inside the traffic center. Wholesome Table since it’s near his office.
We ordered for GRILLED CHICKEN CURRY PIZZA for Php 600. It’s new so on the menu so we gave it a try. SO – SO. Edible, but it’s not on top of my list.
We also ordered for their Truffled Mushroom Pasta for Php 420. I love it, BTW. though from that I remember — Carbonara is better.
Will see you next time when it’s raining and traffic.
The bestfriend brought me here! I have to admit, being a foodie (I’d like to think so) that I am, I have not heard of this.
And the menu? It was pretty hard to pick from all the choices.
So what did we get?
Creamy Mushroom Soup for Php 120 and Seafood Cream Soup for Php 140. The Mushroom soup was so creamy you’d think that it was your Main Course! And it has bits and pieces which I really liked. The size was also big – it can be shared by two.
Shrimp Scampi Linguine for Php 200. This was her order. This is red sauce so you’d be able to predict that this is not mine.
Truffle Cream Spaghetti for Php 240. I was torn between this and my all time safe place, Carbonara. But I just had to try this. It’s really good. It was creamy and very tasty though it had nothing but mushrooms – it was pretty good.
Both pasta sizes were good, my blue lemonade is thirst killer, soup were A-Okay.
Overall, I loved it here. 😀
You know where I’ll bring you next, babe!
I decided to treat my mom. 😀 Lunch at Cafe France at Glorietta.
Tray Cotour ; Pierre. — Crab Sandwich with Seafood Marinara Pasta.
My lunch, tray cotour : Marguerite. — Classic Clubhouse sandwich with Shrimp Pesto pasta. :)) Yeyyyy. Both are only Php 250. It was worth it. It comes with a tall glass drink with (Four Seasons or Iced Tea) 😀 Plus, an appetizer of bread sticks with mango puree and a piece of chocolate dessert! .:D
I missed spending time with her, alone. What a fulfilling lunch.:D
