That orange aura of the sky brings out something else, right? ❤

I’ll be posting some tips on what to wear, what to prepare and what to bring during your engagement shoot this week. ❤

EVERYDAY: Engagement Shoot in the Mountains

8 months of being engaged, 5 months prior our wedding, we had our engagement shoot. ❤ We never really had a hard time coming up with our vision board for our prenup shoot. We both wanted bright, light and in nature.

A little Background: I initially wanted to hold our wedding reception in Villa Milagros in Rizal and our wedding ceremony in St. Benedict in Cavite which are cities A P A R T. So we had to change altogether. At first, we were thinking of holding our engagement shoot in Villa Milagros but we both really wanted to inject nature, a lot of sun, space and air. ❤

Our Engagement Shoot was held in Treasure Mountain in Tanay Rizal and in Grounds Resort, also in Tanay.

Sharing with you the amazing photos by Timoteo Photo. ❤

Our Third Set was shot in Grounds Resort. ❤

Thank you for letting me share with you photos from our engagement shoot. ❤ It was so much fun and tiring at the same time. ❤

I will be posting some tips on what to wear, what to prepare and what to bring this week. ❤

EVERYDAY: Bridal Shower (Family)

This is the only shower that I was completely aware of. 😛 I think hiding and the concept of surprise is not something my Mom considered. 😛 About 40 days before our wedding, my mom kept asking me of my weekend schedule because she wanted to plan my bridal shower. She was that blunt!! Haha.

Unfortunately, one of the unexpected things happened 15 days before my wedding. My Mom got Shingles! Shingles!!To be honest, I was worried for myself. Have I contracted Chickenpox when I was a kid? No. That’s exactly why I was extra cautious! I’ve seen my classmates before who had the illness, even my siblings. Thus, I know how the battle scars can never be removed and I was only days away!!

My Mom was very understanding. She was thinking of the wedding too but the bridal shower was near and we can’t ignore her sudden shingles. :/ I didn’t want to continue this because I know my mom won’t be there and I know that she was the one who planned everything together with my sister. :/ But she really wanted to throw me a send-off dinner.

2018_1015_20393800

I’m in my staple wardrobe because obviously, it was no surprise. 😛 It was held in a small function room of Mama Lou’s in BF Paranaque. ❤ The room can hold around 15 – 20 people. They still had a table for my gifts and a table for the props and all.

The guests were a bit older than the usual guests during a bridal shower. Thus, the games that my sister planned were games that can be done on paper and while seated. There were: What’s in your bag? How well do you know the Groom and Bride? Guess who, Bride or Groom? Word Search, Bridal Bingo Card. My Mom and Sister also prepared some prizes. ❤ ❤

2018_1015_21241400

I absolutely had the best dinner. ❤ Everything that they served was delicious! and mind you, this is the first ever cheesecake that resonated to me. RESONATED? Hahahaha. My husband is a huge fan of cheesecakes and we would normally order separate cakes but man! The Mango Cheesecake of Mama Lou’s is the bomb!

2018_1015_23142700

After several games and our sumptuous dinner, time to unwrap what they prepared for me. ❤

Thank you Tita Grace & Tita Aileen for the Pillows. Thank you Ninang Irma for the set of Utensils. Thank you Ninang Baby for the Dish Rack, Thank you Tita Evelyn for the matching towels. Thank you Tita Karen and Tita Carol for the cash. 😛

Thank you Ate Ives for the All purpose Shelves. Thank you to my sister for the set of glasses. Thank you Rox for the Bowl Server. ❤

A special thank you to my sister who planned the games, prizes, decor and even hosted the whole night. Thank you Ate Ivy for co-hosting. Thank you Rox for helping decorate the place and thank you to my brother who drove me and dropped me off.

2018_1015_232858002018_1015_23281300

Thank you everyone for spending your Saturday Evening with me, for participating in the games and for bringing a little something to help us start our married life. ❤ Thank you. ❤ ❤

EVERYDAY: Bridal Shower (Office)

Okay, I think by now I can say that my husband is very manipulative and a very good liar. NOT. 😛 I sensed this one! — but mostly because I know my office mates. They are a sucker for showers like this, may it be a bridal shower or a baby shower. Plus, I’ve been there. I have been part of the planning group. So yep, guessed this one alright!

To get you in perspective, you have to know that my Wedding was scheduled last November 24 and the Shower happened the Friday, two weeks prior.

First, my colleagues and I already picked the date for our Christmas Party so to get that out of my hair (buying the gift and all), I told them that we needed to pick our Santa Babies already and I need the wish list pronto! (But all of them were saying to delay it by the said Friday – and they were pretty insistent, if I may say). – so that was Hunch 1. Two, one of my office mates were collecting money. For what? Hunch 2.  Three, one of hubby’s office mates asked me to bring him to a condominium for his surprise bachelor’s party. (to the same condominium my office mates were talking about for our Christmas Party!) Hunch 3. And to test the waters a bit, I kept dropping hints that I wanted to go home that Friday because I was feeling a bit beat up due to all the wedding preparations. And the event planner in our group is obviously quite pissed. Hunch 4. HAHA.

Everyone from all sorts of division is here! The night is filled with some dancing, games and a lot of drinking! We started at 8 in the evening so everyone was pretty famished by this time. We ate some good ol’ pasta, chicken, pizza and cake.

First game? No other than the famous Make your own wedding gown using tissue! I know, Sorry Mother Earth for wasting so many tissue. They were supposed to guess which gown I would wear but they both guessed wrong. One of them was off shoulder, and the other, a tube. The team who won was the closest to my neckline.

Mind you, I’m also part of the games. The second and third game was a bit lewd. Teams were divided into two and the two guys will be seating in the chairs with bananas in the middle of their legs and the other group mates will have to finish / eat the banana without using their hands. The other game was the guys will be holding a balloon pump in between their legs and the ladies will have to pump a balloon and pump until the balloon pops. I’m part of the winning team, if you may ask. 😛

IMG-f9741c7db7d7aa4260ca2532a34c59b4-V

Of course, there’s pin the dick with my husband’s face on it. There’s a twist of we will be shouting Hot or Cold. Hot if the player is already near while Cold if the player is moving farther away. But the technique is? If the player is moving towards the right direction, SHOUT COLD! Haha. We were so tired from all the laughing when our eldest colleague ended up pinning the dick in a WHOLE DIFFERENT ROOM. Hahaha.

After 5 games, we were pretty pretty exhausted from all the laughing. We took a bunch of pictures and a second round of dinner. 😛

Let the party begin! Like I said, a whole lot of drinking.

IMG-ae443365ee0a1089bd57ebd97a41a1d5-VIMG-bd1a4f14fa3e91edd2f62c7ec2ab7cdc-V

Thanks to alcohol, I discovered I’m pretty good with cups! Hahaha. There were different levels of tossing the cups and I managed fairly better than the rest. ❤ Hahaha.

I’ll be editing videos from this night. It was so fun! I’ll share them with you once I’m done. ❤ Usually, they are uptight but this night, everyone was out of it. Everyone was dancing and hammered. I had so much fun! Thank youuuuu, guys!

Any memorable experiences from your Bridal Shower Party? Share them with me. ❤ I would love to hear them.

EVERYDAY: Bridal Shower (College)

Another win for my husby this day! ❤ I had no suspicions two weeks prior. I even prepared a gift for his colleague’s birthday! The lie? The hubby pointed out that this particular birthday party will be held at this colleagues unit. (the same building where my friend’s salon was).

The husby forced me to check out the salon and little did I know, my blockmates were waiting for me!

I love this cupcakes! You always see lips, boobs, vagina or penis cupcakes! This is my first time to see a cupcake in action. 😛 Since this is pre-dinner, they also prepared a feast of cold-cuts and cheese!

20191020_144218

Look at that spread! ❤ There were moscato, wine and champagnes!

And here it is, the other bride to be! One week apart.

The great part is, it’s my close friend’s salon. It only means, free manicure, pedicure, foot spa and full body massage! ❤ ❤ ❤

20191020_144047

Before I drop so many photos of the said afternoon, here are the two grooms. 😀

We ended the night with some unlimited Korean Beef Barbecue. ❤

Thank you, J1 Loves. ❤ I appreciate all your efforts! Thank you too, babe.

EVERYDAY: Our Wedding (Reception)

November 24, 2019, the most magical day of my life. ❤

Okay! Hard part is over! 😛 I don’t really like being the center of attention and all. You might say it’s the same since everyone will still be looking at us the entire time. But, with the other half, the reception — people are more relaxed. Everyone will be dancing, talking to each other, singing and eating their hearts out! So, less judging and critical eyes on us. 😀

Our Reception was held at Aquila Crystal Palace. It’s about 30 – 40 minutes from our Ceremony. We had time to relax and just talk to each other in the car on the way there. Mind you, we were still with our bride & groom assistants.

To give you a preview – here’s what it looked like. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced195

BUT BUT BUT! Before we get to that, let’s go back to the start. Shall we? While we were taking our post-nup pictorial, we prepared welcome snacks and drinks for our guests!

Our supplier for this Gabrielle’s Appetizer. We prepared 200 mini sandwiches (cucumber & kani, chicken salad, tuna salad, egg & bacon), 150 mini burgers (chicken and beef), 200 crostinis (gorgonzola bacon, goat cheese & fig ham, prosciutto & brie, smoked salmon) and 2 gallons of cucumber lemonade

I’m so happy to be hearing good feedback from our guests! Their favorites? the mini burgers! But before they can eat, they will pass by our Signages!

I’m proud to say that I designed all the layouts, with the help of my husband, of course. ❤ We decided to maintain the theme of our invitation – White Marble is such a classic and classy design. Aside from the welcome signage, I wanted to add a little extra! – An Infographic of our love story. ❤

While others are eating or taking a photo in our photobooth, we also prepared some games before everything starts!

I personally created a Word Search Game with Startbucks GC for their prizes! I devised a personalized puzzle with words that have roles or connected to our relationship. For instance – Management Trainee (we were both Management Trainees in a bank. This is how we met) 😀 Everything is so much more special when it is personalized. Do you agree?

Before they officially enter the reception area, I also insisted that I wanted a signage for their Seating Arrangement:

I’m definitely proud of this! I’m a huge, huge fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S! I insisted to insert the friends theme in our seating arrangement! The heading is The One Where We got Married (just like how all their titles are worded). ❤ I also named our tables with all the memorable lines / quirks of the series such as Pivot, Big Fat Goalie, How you Doin and etc.

I also asked our host to ask our guests whether they know what theme our seating arrangement is. I prepared a FRIENDS themed prize also, which I bought online (a Friends Door Keychain).

The One thing that will welcome our guests upon entering the place is our Animated Monogram.

71227552_2378959908868768_3652429167632318464_n

At first, I wanted a White Background with Gold font for our names. But our coordinator pointed out that I may not be seen if the background is also white. 😛 So, we decided to switch to Dark Green, still in line with our theme. ❤

Okay! So when we arrived at the scene, it’s time for our make-up retouch and time to fill our stomach with the incredible feast we chose for our guest. ❤ It was really delicious. While we were having our early dinner, there’s another game inside the reception: TRIVIA GAME where we gave out bags of chocolates for every correct answer. Some of the questions were: First movie together, Who said I love you first, Term of Enderament, Favorite Series Marathon food. (Some of the answers to the questions were posted in our Infographic) 😀 Clever. Huh?

Initally, we wanted the Fireworks at the end of the program. But we were also hesitant to schedule it after since it was Sunday and our guests might leave early.

Proven! Guests really do enjoy the fireworks! It also elevates your event! ❤ After the fireworks, guests were asked to return to their seats for the Grand Entrance. 😛

DSC_7084

Our Bridal Squad were introduced in the tune of Dura by Daddy Yankee. while our Groom Squad danced to Boneless by Steve Aoki.

DSC_7106

As you can see, our male squad is definitely more coordinated with Matt Stefanina dance moves. Hence, they won the challenge of who’s better. 😛

Followed by the entrance of our esteemed entourage, our Prenup / Save the Date Video was shown to all of our guests.

And our Grand Entrance in the tune of Good Life by One Republic, inspired by our Wedding Hashtag of #itsJANNAbeaJUDElife transalated as It’s gonna be a good life.

TIP: Please please be witty enough to think of your own wedding hashtags! One, it’s simply fun. Two, it will encourage your guests to use your hashtag. Three, you’ll have an easier time in collating pictures and videos related to your event if it’s clear that YOU are the only ones using it instead of #JudeandJannaforever or #JudeandJanna2019. Maximize the power of hashtag!

DSC_7174

For our Grand Entrance, we decided to use our Indoor Fireworks (which is not shown in the photo) plus this heart shaped confetti free of charge from our Coordinator. ❤

Followed quickly by our entrance, we gave a bit of our opening remarks to our family, friends and loved ones who celebrated with us.

DSC_7225

Our first ever dance as a married couple is in the tune of Say you won’t let go by James Arthur. 🙂  This is also the song I was singing to when he proposed. ❤ This song is really special. ❤ Again, there were Indoor Fireworks and confetti as well.

Wedding Traditions followed such as Cake Cutting and Wine Toasting!

MEK_3570

Our 3 tier carrot cake is designed with pure white with gold highlights with huge floral appliques. It’s so good! I’m actually sad that we forgot that it was in our ref. :/

The wine that we toasted is free from our package with Aquila Crystal Palace. If I remember it correctly, it was not hard because I finished it instantly. ❤

DSC_7318

My sister, one  of the Matrons of Honor started the speech followed by my Brother in law and finally, my Best friend ended the speeches by inviting everyone to offer a toast for our marriage. ❤

MEK_3610

After the long speeches, it’s time for the most awaited time of our guests! Dinner time. ❤ The cousins of my groom, Seth and Yohan led the prayer.

MEK_3616

While the guests were eating or in line to get their food, some of the music that we chose to be played are the following: The way you look tonight, Collide, The last time, if I ain’t got you, Everything, Perfect and Close to you among others.

Well, you know how this goes already. . .  . . before they can even line up to the buffet, they all have to take a picture with us. ❤ Here are some of them.

While eating, another batch of Speeches coming from our Principal Sponsors.

Principal Sponsor speeches! We had to choose one from each of our side. My God mother, sister of my father gave a speech while it was a Family friend from the Groom’s side. After the speeches, a couple of games again — which is the second best game! Minute to Win It – Wedding edition.

So we filmed a one time, one shot games of: Segregate it, Pingpong Ball, Shoot the Ball etc. Each table have to guess who won whether it’s the Bride and the Groom! Everyone turned out to be competitive at this part. ❤

After an interactive game, it’s the Parent Dances!

MEK_3819

We decided to dance simultaneously to the tune of You are so Beautiful by Joe Cocker. 😀 I was scaring my dad and reminding him of their speech! 😛 while I think my mother in law is having the best time dancing with his son. ❤

After a bit serious of dances, it’s fuckin time for another game! Another game? We can never miss out on Single’s Game! To get the suspicion out of their minds, our host called them like they are about to receive a prize.

MEK_3822

Men are lined up in front – a music is played and whoever dances the right move first gets to seat down! The following music were played – Watch me whip, Soulja Boy, Teach me How to Dougie, Gangnam, Level Up, Stayin Alive, Thriller and Can’t Touch this.

Then whoever doesn’t dance, will remain in front and the ladies will start searching for the safety pin. The lady who doesn’t find a single pin, loses. ❤

MEK_3831

The losers  of both games, or rather the last man and woman standing wins a Starbucks GC which they can use to go on their ‘date’ – a little matchmaker doesn’t lose its touch on weddings!

MEK_3834

It’s my husband’s colleague and one of my closes high school friend! ❤ And after this fun game, our host now calls on both of our parent’s for the wise words.

MEK_3839MEK_3837

It’s the Welcome to the Family speech! It’s such a cliche but really overwhelming. It warms your heart, right? I felt really happy to hear it goes both ways. ❤ I have no better way of saying this but it felt really good.

Before the night is over, we prepared some awards to be given to our guests.

Cool Tito Award (right picture) and Fab Tita Award where we award the Best Dressed one – we gave them Wine and a Tefal Pan. ❤ We also awarded Dressed to Kill (Upper Right) for the Best Dressed Millenial and we gave them a 6-pack beers and a Make Up Kit.  Lastly, we gave out a Grand Prize (Lower Right) for the best picture and handed them a powerbank.

Then we played our On Site Photo and our Save the Date Video. ❤

Look at our faces!! ❤ Our Photo Team is led by TJ of Timoteo Photo and our SDE was created by Mac by Stories by Supermac! Extremely in awe, hearts bursting with joy and overwhelmed with gratitude and love. ❤

Before our night ends, we said our Thank yous and invited them for a night full of dancing and drinking!

DSC_7337

Look at our ceiling treatment filled with an all white embellishments and gold highlights and black draping to make our ceiling pop out! ❤

The night ends as mentioned, with drinking and dancing! ❤ ❤ ❤

MEK_3851

Our last picture before our guests go back to Manila! First up, my colleagues!

My brother and his girlfriend before they fled out of the scene. 😛 Haha. Next? Our Wedding Buddies, one week apart and now, we’re all married. ❤

I always come in threes, Don’t I? And Of course, My Bestfriends since High School.

It always put a smile on my face when I see my friends from different groups come together like this. 🙂

DSCF7557

And before this day ends, I need a picture with my husband. ❤

I love you so much, husband! ❤ ❤ It’s been five months and it’s still the Best Day of My Life. ❤

EVERYDAY: Our Wedding (Bride’s Vows)

November 24, 2019, the most magical day of my life. ❤

Documenting this here so I can read it over and over and over again and be reminded of my commitment to my husband.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced282

”8 years ago, I walked into BOC looking to start my career. Instead, I met the man I was going to marry.

Bab, thank you for always braving the Saturday El Shaddai just to bring me home. Thank you for giving me your chicken skin, knowing I hate the white portion. Thank you for always giving me the last bite of our sizzling tofu.

Thank you for always supporting me & pushing me to be my best, especially when I don’t believe in myself. Thank you for trusting that I can do more. I promise I’ll always be here to support you whether you want to pursue law or try out your singing career. Thank you for never making me feel less for all my shortcomings & lastly, Thank you for enduring the boy – jojo tandem. (Everybody knows how strict my parents are).

I don’t know where life will take us but I promise that we’ll get through anything as long as we face them together. I promise not just to be your wife but to continue being your bestfriend. I promise to hear you out life a friend even in your ugliest & work it out as your wife.

I know marriage won’t always be a happy ending. There will be days we can’t bear to be with each other. I know that we will have to work on our relationship every single day, but it will be easy knowing it’s with you. I know that both of us will change but I promise to love not just the person that you are now but the person that you will become, no matter how different you may be. If I have to wake up 40 years from now and see a bald fat guy, I want it to be with you, double chin & all.

I promise not to give up on us & to do everything to make our marriage work. I promise not to run when things get hard. I promise I’ll stay even when you’re annoying as hell. I promise to love you when it’s easy & even more when it’s not. Most importantly, I promise to still hold you hand even when you wear crocs in public.

Baba, I’m not sure if you remember. But 5 years ago, I wrote a blog about you. It says,

Someday, I want to experience freaking out of wedding details. I want to argue with you what flowers should go inside the church, or what color of tux should you wear, who our ring bearer is, the color of our invitation, what our theme song is, what flavor our wedding cake will be or what band should we hire. I want to take hundreds of prenuptial pictures with you. I want to attend a wedding rehearsal and not be scared that you might flip out because I am aware of how much you love me. Someday, I want to have hundreds and thousands of butterflies in my stomach not because I’m nervous but because I am full of excitement to finally be called your wife. I want to wear a sparkling fantasy shoes because I’ve already met my prince charming. An intelligent-charming-handsome lawyer slash banker slash archaeologist prince charming. I want to feed you our cake and let you drink wine knowing that I will be doing it for the rest of our lives. Lastly, I want to walk down the aisle perfectly happy knowing that all of my dreams are waiting for me, ready to take my hand and exchange vows in front of god and in front of our families and friends. I want to walk down the aisle and say I do to the man of my dreams.

Today, baba, I get to fulfill that dream, that blog I wrote 5 years ago. Today, I’ll be your wife. I love you baba. I can’t wait to take on life with you.

EVERYDAY: Our Wedding (Groom’s Vows)

November 24, 2019, the most magical day of my life. ❤

Documenting this here so I can read it over and over and over again.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced542

‘Babe, Our story is about unexpected love. We did not want each other at first. Me, thinking that you are the typical party girl who is not my type and your impression of me was that I am a grumpy nerd who hates everyone who cannot understand what is being discussed.

I can’t remember exactly when but I started to fall for you. You have a very lovable attitude – very compassionate, caring and sympathetic.

I fell so immensely I had to pursue you even if you were pushing me away. Parang may spell. And because of patience and perseverance, napasagot kita. I was very lucky and blessed to have you as my girlfriend.

Sabi ko ikaw na yung gusto ko makasama habambuhay. Sabi nila, very rare yung ganun bu that’s how I saw it from the inital stages of our relationship – wife material.

Wala tayong madramang story na nag-break tapos nagkabalikan or iniwan tapos narealize, mahal pala niya. OUR LOVE STORY IS VANILLA. But it is your favorite ice cream flavor. We were able to know each other and talk about things nang mahinahon.

We handled our relationship with maturity kahit na minsan hilig mong mang-away. Iniitindi natin yung isa’t isa, yung feelings nang isa’t isa. Wala na akong mahihiling pa for a partner in life. Ikaw lang ang gusto ko makasama, babe. Ikaw lang yung gusto ko nandiyan sa successes & failures ko. Ikaw yung gusto ko makinig pag nagrant ako. Lagi ko sinasabi, I cannot see my future without you.

THIS IS IT MAHAL. Wala na yung mahabang ma-traffic na bbyahe pag maghahatif and pag-antay mo na makauwi ako bago tayo matulog. Magkasama na tayo pag-uwi kapag may party or inuman, pwede na tayo mag-travel together, magluto nang baon for each other and maglinis at mag-ayos nang sarili nating bahay.

I will do everything to make our marriage God-driven, meaningful and strong. Please remember na mahal na mahal kita. Whenever there are tough times, let us always choose to be with each other and love each other.

I am so happy to be with you and I am excited to spend the rest of my life with you.

I love you

NSG. ”

EVERYDAY: Our Wedding (Groom: The Pre-Wedding)

November 24, 2019, the most magical day of my life. ❤

GROOM: When she was still my fiancée, my wife would (once-in-a-while) ask me “When did you know / decide that you will marry me?” and I would always answer that I already knew it when I started to woo her. And she would not believe that. But it is true. I did not pursue her just to fool around. I pursued her because I wanted to be committed to her.

I proposed on October 27, 2018 in Coron, Palawan and we decided to get married (more or less) a year after the proposal. We planned our wedding date to coincide with our first date which was on November 18 but it would fall on a Monday so we decided to move it on the nearest Saturday which was on November 16. One of the mistakes that we did was to book a reception venue first before a Church. However, we already paid a non-refundable fifty thousand peso advance payment for the reception so there is really no choice but to just pick any Church for our wedding. I searched for every near church in the area but to no avail so I looked for farther Churches located in Batangas (Caleruega and Chapel on the Hill) for a weekend date. Caleruega’s 2PM schedule was fully booked until 2020. Luckily, I was able to find a free Sunday slot in Chapel on the Hill. I remember driving from my house in Sta. Ana, Manila to Chapel on the Hill in Batanagas just to reserve the available date (November 24, 2019). Consequently, we also had to change the date with our venue coordinator.

After those two major suppliers were booked, everything went by so fast. There were too many discussions and problems which came thru but my wife and I solved it by talking properly. We did not want to involve our parents so much since we wanted them to just attend the ceremony and not worry much about it.

One month before the wedding, we felt exhausted because of all the errands and the work that we should do. I just wanted everything to get done. I was already thinking of the days after the wedding (sana matapos na).

We checked-in in our hotel on November 23, 2019 (a day before the wedding) so our families could still rest and chill before our busy day.  There was a forecasted bad weather on our wedding day so I could not relax. I was very anxious since I did not want our day to be ruined by a storm. We worked hard and sacrificed a lot just to have the BEST wedding.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced433

I woke up at 6am on November 24, 2019. The first thing I did was to look outside and thanked God for a blue sky. The weather was fair until the time that we had to go to the Church. It rained when my family and I were being transported to the Church. The rain was so hard. I was pissed and sad but I just prayed and I tried to be calm. Our coordinator was very helpful calming me.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced435

My husband is wearing a really dark emerald suit, dark brown tie, shoes and belt.

The room assigned to my husband is a lot bigger than mine. All of his entourage can fit inside the house. ❤ I’m pretty sure they are watching him and our PV team while they were shooting him here. 😀

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced428

Yep! We pick GOOOOODD. ❤ It’s the watch I gave him for this 25th birthday! Our minimalist white marble invitation and the perfume I gave him too as a Christmas gift before. Since then, he’s been using the scent. ❤

It’s his siblings helping him straighten his tie and close his suit, dashing as ever. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced474

WOAHHHHH. HANDSOME ALERT. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced483

Our PV team had a fun time. Our hotel made it easy for them to shoot. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced498

To officially introduce our groom squad. here’s the 3 of his siblings as his bestmen, 2 of the husbands of my close friends, his high school bestfriend and his cousin. My brother and his first cousins as our Secondary Sponsor.

Our groom squad is all wearing a black suit and black shoes. We all gave them neckties that will match with our bride squad. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced507

We are surrounded with greenery and fresh air, complimenting and emphasizing the beautiful day of our union. ❤

Mr. Darcy in real life! I married this man. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced519

And boys, being boys. They had to start the day with a shot of alcohol. Uhm hello? You’ll be marrying me.  What do you need the alcohol for? 😛

And with a shot of Jack Daniels, off they go to the church, while the groom stays to have a photo with his family. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced528

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced538

Lastly, here’s my dashing groom opening my gift: A bunch of adventures and dates. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced503

Bride to Groom: ‘My love, My life, My All – Baba we never have to miss another seat sale again! I love you so much. To more red eye flights, road trips, trying out hole in the wall restaurants, hopping to 1 hotel to the other. DATE DAY is all on! I can’t wait. I love love love you! ❤ ”

Groom to Bride: ‘Hi Mahal! I bought this property in 2016 para tirhan natin! Please receive the main keys for our condominium! Excited to spend our time together here. I-design and mag netflix and chill. I love you! See you sa altar! ”

EVERYDAY: Our Wedding (The Ceremony)

November 24, 2019, the most magical day of my life. ❤

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Everyone is dressed, everyone is made up. All of our loved ones, may it be family or friends or friends that became family, are gathered to celebrate our union.

Our wedding was held in Chapel on the Hill, or Don Bosco Chapel in Tagaytay. It was only 10 – 15 minutes away from our hotel.

Our union or the official ceremony is set at 2:00 in the afternoon. It was cloudy. To be honest, it was raining that afternoon but God has his ways. It was raining when we left the hotel but it stopped when I arrived in the chapel.

Inside the chapel where my husband waits, he waits impatiently and jittery. Why? Our officiant was late. HAHA. They were coming from Antipolo Cathedral and running late. Thus, the groom, my hubby and a friend of our officiant was personally contacting him as it was past 2:00 pm already. Our coordinator had to confiscate the groom’s phone to keep him from panicking. 😛

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced340

For our entourage march, we chose an instrumental Thousand Years by Christina Perri. This is my nervous hubby with my second parents, walking down the aisle.

Our flower girls are also dressed in all white, mikado material with no beads or lace, to compliment my wedding gown. Here’s my hubby’s god daughter, maiara and my god daughter, elle carried by her father.

Here’s my handsome nephew – pio, my intelligent nephew – tyke and hubby’s cousin – matthew with a practiced showbiz smile. 😀

Meanwhile, I was feeling at ease. Still, I was not nervous AT ALL. I was even chatting with my driver and my bride assistant. UNTIL, I saw the people outside the chapel going inside! I then started to feel the NEED and URGE  to pee! Of all the times that I need to urinate — it was moments before I need to walk down the aisle. The nearest bathroom? on the other side of the chapel, where I will need to walk past all of our guest! Ergo, I need to hold it in! I was even asking my bride assistant if I can do it at the back of my bridal car. 😀 (I did it once, mind you! in college. :P)

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced151

Like I said, it was cloudy and raining minutes before we started. While I was getting off the car and walking towards the entrance, I was focused on my walk because it was windy and my veil keeps getting caught in the branches of the trees.

15 to 20 steps from getting inside the church, it started drizzling! GAD. I was not panicky. I still maintained my composure.

I personally picked my Bridal March to be I get to love you by Ruelle. I listened to a couple of bridal songs, friends also suggested and I searched and search until I found the perfect song. This, this song is perfect for how I feel for my hubby. ❤

Every time I hear this song, before and after our marriage – it still makes my heart swell. You know how when you just get into a moment where you feel so so much love for that person, you heart feels like exploding? I’m not exaggerating. That’s how I feel for him and this song always reminds me of that. ❤

It’s true what they say, you will not hear anything! everything is blurry! When I finally turned right and face the altar – I could not see anything but my husband! I couldn’t even hear the perfect song that I chose! I just kept walking! I felt I was breezing through.

TIP: On how to walk, you’re supposed to kick your gown to the front then step. So you won’t step on your gown. And oh, don’t just go for aesthetic on your bouquet. It really is heavy.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced339

And the rest of the ceremony follows. It kept pouring cats & dogs while everyone was safely inside the chapel.

Also, ask your parishes too what kind of offering they prefer. I really thought they would prefer food such as canned ones and instant noodles and the like. Apparently, they prefer cleaning materials which they can readily use for their chapel. So we offered Zonrox, Lysol, Tissues and Alcohol.

oh! Another TIP: Place your hands inside the veil and push them away from your face. I had a hard time opening my eyes the entire time! My lashes were bent down / pushed down rather by my veil.

Our song line up: for the Gospel – Alleluia, for the offertory – Lord I offer my life, for communion – Lead me Lord and Anima Christi.

Here we are, exchanging our vows. I don’t why I laughed but I did. ❤ This is the essence of our union: to commit in front of God and all our loved ones to love each other for the rest of our days.

This is our most awaited moment – the promise and our commitment. While our guests? they are actually waiting for this. 😀

Our officiant, Fr. Nante and Fr. Peejay, the celebrators of our mass.

DSC_6381

For the contract signing, we chose the following songs: Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton, Everything by Michael Buble, I do cherish you by 98 degrees and In your eyes by Regine Velasquez.

The pictorial and recessional followed after. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced383

For our recessional, we chose to have wands colored dark emerald and gold together with bubbles which I personally painted gold. ❤

TIP: Don’t dwell so much in the small details. During our preparation, I gave so much time and stress over the smallest of details such as the color and if the output of the bubble wands that I painted are okay. Turns out — the guests doesn’t really care about the details. But if you enjoy doing it, like I did – go ahead! No harm done as long as you are happy with it. 😀

I finally get to call the love of my life for 6 years, MY HUSBAND. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced601

The happiest day of life, my dreams are now a reality.

I love you so much, my baba! ❤

EVERYDAY: Our Wedding (Bride: The Pre-Wedding)

November 24, 2019, the most magical day of my life. ❤

We drove up to Tagaytay a day before our wedding so we can get all settled before our big day. Our family stayed in Abagatan Ti Manila. I stayed in the Heritage Room while my family were in different deluxe rooms. We actually had lunch with my relatives and had dinner with my immediate family. I even had time to do some girl talk with some of my entourage who were staying in the same hotel.

It was a perfect, sunny morning. My day started at 5:00 in the morning. My coordinator and I agreed to meet at 6:00 am so we can still do the turnover for an hour. My Hair & Make-Up team will be arriving at 7:00.

DSC_5013

My HMUA Team, led by Elaine Celestino arrived at 6:00 but stayed in the parking. Elaine, together with her assistant did mine, my maid of honor, the groom’s mother and our flower girl. The white robe I’m wearing while I’m doing my make-up is a gift from my cousin. Thank you, Maves!

TIP: Play your favorite songs in the background. That will help lighten everyone’s mood! Since I’m a 90s baby, I was playing RNB 90s and singing to the tunes of Shawty it’s your Booty, Buy you a drank, Confessions, Mad, My Boo, So sick, Miss Independent and the likes.

This, my final look for the church ceremony. ❤ This time, I’m wearing the dress I designed from scratch, made a reality by Embellish Dress Shop.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced16

My beautiful bouquet was prepared by Dangwa Florist. I wanted an all white roses. At first, I wanted a cascading bouquet but when I tried carrying one, it was too heavy for me. I changed it back to round ones. Also, check my Champagne colored heels.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced3

Some of our wedding details: an All White wedding invitation made by Paper Thread Studio with an illustration of us from our engagement shoot. ❤ Our rings were made by Marry Me and obviously, my perfume known to be Janna’s scent – Gucci.

CLP_4856

The kind of gown all small girls dream of. The Wedding Gown of my dreams. ❤ It’s an A-Line in Gazar – Mikado Material, a deep V, neck line with sheer V deep armholes, a deep V Back with floral appliques on the side and some pearls to cover my chest. The amazing thing? it has pockets! P.S. I didn’t want any diamonds or lace or sheer or sequins.

The Gown of my dreams was created by Rose Lagdameo, the official couturier of Pronovias, Mi Sueno here in the Philippines.

Uhuh! Isn’t it perfect? ❤

I swear I wasn’t feeling any nervousness. I was at peace and calm and you know, just following wherever they needed me to be. And here comes our Photographer and Videographer, Timoteo Photo and Stories by Supermac, asking me to read my vows.

Two months before our wedding, there was a memo released for all the churches in Tagaytay – we are no longer allowed to read our personal vows during the ceremony. :/ I’d like to share my Wedding Vows on a separate post.

Check out the details of my white robe from Embellish Dress Shop. ❤

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced42TimoteoPhotoEnhanced26

Before the shenanigans with my bridemaids, here I am being followed by a couple of photographers, shooting everywhere, all around the property of Abagatan!

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced68

My hair was carefully done by David’s Salon! Check out my beautiful highlights! ❤ Let me take this time to introduce my bride squad: I have 2 Maids of Honor, my older sister, Jillian and my best friend, Alex. My Bridesmaids are Bianca and Atria, my 2 best friends from High School and Nicole and Jaja from my college group. My Secondary Sponsors are Katrina, one of my HS Bestfriends, my cousin Ivy and groom’s cousin, Yza.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced73

We got our bride squad champagne robes from SMGM Bridal Shop. It’s nice right? It’s the perfect classy color and size is right.

TIP: Get your closest friends! It will be more fun and it will be an opportunity for them to get to know each other and become close friends as well.

As our gift to our bride squad, my Maid of Honor Alex gave me 9 sets of Make-Up from Barebug, her business. And as our gift for her, I purchased a wallet from Mango.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced113

The beautiful gown of our bride squad was created by Christlee Marcelino. As part of our theme, our Bridesmaids wore a dark emerald gown, our Secondary Sponsors wore a sage green and our Maids of Honor wore a champagne gown. All of their gowns are plain, mikado gown with a high slit infront. ❤

Before we head to the church, we each had a toast of a fruity wine! And zero ounce of doubt or nervousness, STILL!

Of course we have to have a series of shots withe most important group – my family! A couple with my mom, my dad, my siblings and one with that yaya I grew up with.

TimoteoPhotoEnhanced145TimoteoPhotoEnhanced134

I love my family and I’m glad we are complete on this beautiful day. ❤

About to see the love of my life, say I do and promise to stay committed for the rest of our lives. I can’t wait. ❤ Look how happy I am!

BOOK REVIEW : The Wives by Tarryn Fisher

GOODREADS: Thursday’s husband, Seth, has two other wives. She’s never met them, and she doesn’t know anything about them. She agreed to this unusual arrangement because she’s so crazy about him. But one day, she finds something. Something that tells a very different—and horrifying—story about the man she married.

What follows is one of the most twisted, shocking thrillers you’ll ever read.

HOLY SHIT. If you are looking for something like Gone Girl, this is it. It’s on some next level shit. I couldn’t put it down. Once I’ve decided to take a rest from reading, the end of the chapter just reels you back in.

The plot twists is mind blowing! like, HOW? I started this book with pity for Thursday for being stuck in a polygamist marriage then I moved on to annoyance of how she ever willingly said yes to this agreement and somehow understanding of how it turned her to be a stalker and quite obsessed with the other wives.

But then, here comes Seth with his charming antics and very sweet gestures only to be lured to his other personality as what Thursday believed him to be, – a man living with so much lies with a temper. Throw in a bitter ex-wife with her four inch heels, a successful job and a poise and class to match, a practiced liar and an opportunist, who finds herself in a situation to take revenge on the slut that ruined her marriage.

  • That’s how women are, right? Always wondering about each other – curiosity and spite curdling together in little emotional puddles. If you wonder too hard, you’ll get everything wrong.
  • No one tries that hard to keep their husband unless they’ve already lost him.
  • The truth is that the heart’s desire is a mere current against the tide of nurture and nature. You can spend your whole life swimming against it and eventually you’ll get tired and the current of genes and upbringing will put you under.
  • You don’t have to give up something you love just because other people disapprove.
  • That’s what love is about right? Working with what your partner came with.
  • A relationship can withstand almost any trial if the sex was good.
  • It’s amazing how once you open a door for something, there’s o going back. All you can do is brace yourself as you get sucked in.
  • We’re all just waiting for someone to stand behind us, aren’t we? Even if it’s just one person, it gives you strength.
  • I was overcame with love – pressing, pressing, pressing my feelings down to accommodate him. Isn’t that what we do as women?
  • Women are stuck in a cycle of insecurity perpetuated by the way men treat them and we are constantly fighting to prove to them our value.
  • We see each other often, but no one really knows what’s happening behind everyone’s eyes.
  • We busy ourselves trying not to be lonely, trying to find purpose in careers, and lovers and children, but any moment, those feelings we work so hard to possess could easily be taken from us.

This is all so confusing! There’s way too many plot twist and mind games! I LOVE THE BOOK. This reminds me of Verity by CHoover. ❤ ❤

EVERYDAY: We got married (The Preps)

We had exactly 1 year to prepare. If I had to be really honest, it did not come as a surprise at all. (which can either be a good thing or a bad thing) I’m kind of proud of us actually. I think we’re both mature and invested enough in the relationship. We were both sure that we’ll marry each other. We both know what we wanted out of this relationship. There were no pretensions. We were vocal and there never was a battle of who gets to care less. In this time of no commitment relationships, we’ve always been been transparent.

We planned ahead. We talked about things early on. Whenever we see something wedding related, we were both comfortable enough to say, ‘Bab, I want this for our wedding’, ‘Babe I already asked for a quotation’, ‘Can we get this for our wedding?’. We can talk freely without the fear that the other will think that the relationship is going too fast.

It was October 2018 when my then boyfriend proposed during one of our vacations in Coron, Palawan.(check out how he proposed here!). We returned in Manila and when we were settled. We already looked for our Church and Venue. I already wrote about our experience here, tips and tricks too for early preparations. (read all about it here!)

For this post, I just would like to do a run down of the different experiences we had to deal with during that year of preparation, (One, hoping it would help others and Two, because no matter what challenges we had to face with? I’d like to remember everything!)

Wedding Gown: The biggest worry of all brides.

At first, I was fairly certain that I wanted a mermaid cut. I was slim and people always complimented my body. (not that I’m Kim or Kylie) but I had the right amount of chest and bum good enough to wear a mermaid cut. But as the days passed, my friends would always make a hint that they already know what type of gown I would wear. So just to go against all of their guesses, I went with . . . an A-Line Cut.

Apart from the shape of the gown, you also have to consider your neckline, the trail, your veil and the amount of details you want. Right off the bat, I wanted a clean, minimalist V-Neck Gown – that’s certain.

To give you an idea of how hard it is to settle on 1 final peg, I had about 300 pinterest gowns, messaged about 30 couturiers, followed 15 bridal accounts on IG and more. I also visited 3 couturiers and ended with a friend of my mom, Rose Lagdameo.

I experienced the tiniest worry when Rose decided to follow my mom and alter the neckline of my gown. Whew! It’s a good thing the final output turned out to be exactly how I pictured it.

It’s a Pronovias 2018 Castle Gown – a Mikado A-line Shape with low cut V-neck front and back, triangular tulle armholes and godets in tulle skirt with beaded and fabric flowers.

Groom’s Suit: The only thing groom has a complete say on. 😛

A little background: We initially wanted a Maroon-Gold themed wedding but given that our date was November 24, we thought it would seem more of Christmas theme than a wedding and the fiancee had doubts if he can pull off a maroon suit. So we went with our second best choice: Dark Emerald and Champagne / Gold.

And just like how all men are, he didn’t actually have hundreds of pegs. We just attended a wedding fair and since Felipe & Sons is one of the more popular ones, we approached their booth and looked for the perfect Dark Emerald material. —- and tadah! They do have it!

It was such a smooth transaction. Ate Violy was very attentive and suggestive of what would go best with our choices. She even helped us choose the buttons, our neck ties, socks and even the color of our shoes and belt! It was a perfect fit and I honestly wanted to marry my fiancee right then & there on his second fitting. He looked absolutely dapper. ❤

Entourage Proposal: Unnecessary but happy to do it

I really wanted to give our entourage something they can keep since they will be spending for their own attire. I’ve been saving different ideas from pinterest, wawies, Instagram and the likes.

2018_0211_21020800

For our Male Entourage: Clinique Happy Perfume, a handkerchief and a little message for our handsome entourage.

2018_0211_22405700

For our Female Entourage: Champagne Robes from SMGM Bridal Robes for our morning pictorial, almost the exact pair of earrings I wore when my husband proposed and a letter for my dearest friends.

I really enjoyed doing the DIYs! I scouted all the layouts from the letter, to their names, to the font that we used, which I printed (in the o**ic*) Haha. Hubby also participated by doing the ribbon that we placed outside the box.

Prenup: Our facial rehearsal for the big day!

I was a bit confused for our theme. Initially, I really wanted to use the venue that I was eyeing on for our reception but we had to change since the rate was over our budget. When my husband and I talked, we finalized on three themes: Nature, Our Love Story and Everyday Life.

For Nature, we agreed on Treasure Mountain. For our Love Story, we wanted an office set-up and even asked if we can actually shoot in the office building where we met. Unfortunately, an hour would already cost too much. For the last theme, everyday life of husband and wife, we wanted to shoot in an airbnb where we can just read books, cook, bake, read newspaper and all the mundane things that will show how our lives will turn out after our wedding.

Being the aesthete that I am, I wanted our clothes to match so we even practiced and bought some new ones for the prenup shoot.

On the day of the shoot, we woke up at 2 in the morning, drove to Rizal at 3 am for our makeup since shoot starts at 6:00 am. We were really exhausted by the time we ended but happy with the raw output from our Photo-Video team.

Food: One of the biggest expectations that we need to meet.

It’s always the food that people remembers, we’ve been told time and again. Our Venue have several accredited suppliers. Originally, we wanted to go with the more famous one but was so disappointed during the Food Tasting.

We had 3 Food Tastings! Hahaha. And relieved to be hearing so many kind words with our choice of food. 😀

Make-up: Something that can make or break the bride

Gahh. One of the nerve wracking  decisions. I had my dream MUA but like all brides, we need to learn to compromise. My dream artist costs like Php 60,000 so obviously, it was over our budget. I tested with three MUA during bridal fairs.

I don’t know why hair artists really like doing hairs like the one in the middle where the top of the head is flat. I hated the flat top big hair. We closed with the MUA where I was wearing black.

I suggest that no matter how broad the portfolio of your dream MUA, please do a trial makeup first.

Entourage Gown: This should also go with the theme of your wedding

I was certain I wanted a clean cut minimalist mikado gowns for my friends. I wanted it to complement with my gown but not over power it. (since my wedding gown is minimalist too)

DSCF5854

I loved that our scheduled fittings turned out to become our bonding moments. It’s nice to know that my friends from our other groups are now friends too. ❤

Pick your entourage wisely! There are expenses along the way such as bridal showers, shoes and accessories that they need to put together. There are weekends they will need to sacrifice but the real ones will happily do it.

Did I mention I personally drew their gowns too?

Survival Kits: A bribe from the heart

We didn’t even think about this! It’s a good thing we are a part of this group in facebook called wawies where other couples share their wedding ideas. Survival Kits are basically snacks and drinks for your suppliers.

We prepared survival kits both in our prenup shoot and in the actual wedding day. Not only was it given to suppliers but we also prepared some snack for the prep room where our entourage will get ready and in the respective cars we will be using too. 🙂

Prep Dress: Unnecessary but Aesthetics. 😛

I’m known to be a bit maarte and because admittedly am, I was very specific with my prep dress. I didn’t want it to be a robe. So yes, I drew the dress that I wanted and asked several couturiers.

Annndddd, Embellish Dress Shop was able to pull it off exactly. ❤

Signage: Something in theme but shows off personality

I’m a huge F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan!!! and the hubby is a pretend-fan, I insisted our signages to be friends-themed. ❤ It’s something I personally worked on. ❤ and I loved the outcome.

Aside from that, we wanted to show our love story and some little facts about our relationship so I also worked on an infographic. ❤ We stayed with our white marble layout.

Supplier Gifts: To show gratitude

At first I really thought it was such an added expense but as our wedding day approaches, we got to know our suppliers better and proved to be worthy of small gifts. ❤

DSCF7361

For our Coordinator, since they really went above and beyond, we gave them cash gifts, Perfume for our event stylist, bath sets for the three teams of our HMUA, Goodies Basket for our AE in Venue, Photo & Video Team, Musician and Host.

Prizes, Awards and Small Tokens

We planned everything together with our host who also helped us think of our prizes. ❤

DSCF7376

So for our small entourage, the bearers and flower girls, we each gave them chocolate goodies.  I was not able to take a good picture, but for our principal sponsors, we gave them a bottle of wine and chocolates. The same goes for our trusted entourage.

We also had some awards to be given out and prizes to go with them. For the best dressed young ones, we gave them beers and make up and for the somehow older crowd, we gave them wine and pans. ❤

For some of our games, we gave out Starbucks GC and powerbanks. ❤

Planning was so stressful, full of pressure and unsolicited opinions but damn, I miss it! It’s such a joy to be wholeheartedly involved in every aspect and to see your ideas and dreams come to life on the best day of your life. ❤

BOOK REVIEW : Regretting you by Colleen Hoover

Goodreads: Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, would like nothing more than to be nothing alike.Morgan is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did. By getting pregnant and married way too young, Morgan put her own dreams on hold. Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Her predictable mother doesn’t have a spontaneous bone in her body.
The only person who can bring peace to the household is Chris—Morgan’s husband, Clara’s father, and the family anchor. But that peace is shattered when Chris is involved in a tragic and questionable accident. Morgan finds comfort in the last person she expects to, and Clara turns to the one boy she’s been forbidden to see.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of reading Coho books. ❤ ever since I saw her post about working on this book, I’ve been reeling to get my hands on this!

The story of Morgan and Clara blends together so well. Two different individuals with two different personalities going through the same loss paired with confusion and lots of heartache. It’s like Coho gave us all three books in one. You’ll see a grieving wife and a sister who’s experiencing the worst betrayal but continues to fall in love and learns to put down her walls. You’ll see a teenage girl who’s grieving for her hero yet finds out one of the most painful secrets. You’ll see how the relationship of a mother and her daughter grows through life experiences.

”Everyone around me seems to have a purpose, yet I feel like I’ve reached the age of thirty four and have absolutely no life outside of Clara and Chris”. From this book, I think I appreciated my mother better. Morgan’s pent up feelings and issues of self doubt felt so painfully real. You’ll see how much mothers sacrifice for their children, putting their dreams and life to a pause or to a complete stop. I wonder if all mothers go through that? feeling like you have no life other than being a mother to your children and a wife to your husband. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong. But like Morgan, that’s one of my fears too. Coho illustrated it so well. I wish every mother knows how important they are and how respected, appreciated and loved they are.

It makes me wonder how a seemingly good husband seems to be perfect one time and hurts you so much without knowing it? How can anyone be perfectly good liars in front of your face? I hate that I liked Chris at first. ‘What if your future wife doesn’t like it?’ ‘ You won’t’.

I love the adoring banter between Miller and his gramps. Gramps is pretty witty himself. ❤ And the way Jonah freakin saves all the watermelon jolly ranchers ever since they were kids? GAH. And the way Miller has been stalking Clara for three years!! I want a promposal, just like that. ❤ ‘One of these days, that girl is gonna notice me. You just wait’. 😀 Plus miller named his truck Nora!!! The character Clara played in the theater. ❤

  • I wonder if humans are the only living creatures who feel hollow inside.
  • Sometimes when we’re alone, he looks at me in a way that makes me feel empty when he looks away.
  • His words jar me.
  • I love it when he smiles, even after all these years of marriage.
  • Sometimes you have to walk away from the fight in order to win it.
  • I guess that happends when you become a mother, though. Your focus is no longer on yourself.
  • Heartbreak builds character.
  • For some reason, sadness in music eases music eases the sadness in my soul. It’s like the worse the heartache in a song is, the better I feel.
  • I’ve believed in you the moment I met you. I believe in myself now that I’ve finally left you.
  • I think it’s time I figure out who I was meant to become before I started living my life for everyone else.
  • Everything you do is epic, Clara.
  • Grown ups might not have their shit figured out nay more than we do. They just wear more convincing masks.
  • I just love you because I can’t help it, and it feels good to love you.
  • Attraction isn’t something that only happens once, with one person. It’s part of what drives humans. Our attraction to each other, to art, to food, to entertainment. Attraction is fun. So when you decide to commit to someone, you aren’t saying, ‘I promise I’ll never be attracted to anyone else’. You’re saying, ‘I promise to commit to you, despite my potential future attraction to other people’.
  • Relationships are hard for that very reason. Your body and your heart don’t stop finding the beauty and the attraction in other people simply because you’ve made a commitment to one person. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you’re drawn to someone else, it’s up to you to remove yourself from that situation before it becomes too hard to fight.

I ache, I smiled, I teared up, I hurt. One morning when I was with my colleague buying breakfast, she looked at me worried asking if I’m okay because I was tearing up, and I only said, I’m reading. ❤ This is what Colleen does to me.

BOOK REVIEW : All your perfects by Colleen Hoover

Goodreads: Quinn and Graham’s perfect love is threatened by their imperfect marriage. The memories, mistakes, and secrets that they have built up over the years are now tearing them apart. The one thing that could save them might also be the very thing that pushes their marriage beyond the point of repair.

38926487 (1)

This is what scares me in a marriage. How can two perfectly in love couple just fall out of love? Can a relationship stay the same if both work on it hard enough? Infidelity is one but how can a person who used to give you so much contentment and happiness be the person you don’t want to see next to you in the morning? Two, children is not the sole goal to a marriage. Why can’t it be two people who wants to commit to each other for the rest of their lives call it a happy marriage whether or not they have kids? Children are an amazing gift of god, but I think it is only a by-product of the love the couple has for each other. It’s not only kids that keeps a marriage alive.

Anyway, despite the whirlwind of emotions this book cost me, I was able to finish it in one night and one day. That’s just how much I want to keep reading and rooting for their marriage to work out. I won’t spoil but Graham less the infidelity is just amazing, how much he loves his wife. And his tear jerking letters. I promise to love you more when…

With my marriage? I also hope to weather Category 5 moments or even the stronger ones. Fingers crossed. ❤ Colleen, you did it again! You really are one of my favorite authors! ❤

The SAD Parts:

  • He used to look at me with amusement and awe. Now his eyes just flood me with pity.
  • It’s strange how I can miss a person who is still here. It’s strange that I can miss making love to a person I still have sex with
  • Should he be punished by my infertility? He says kids don’t matter to him as much as I matter to him, but I know he says that because he doesn’t want to hurt me. But ten or twenty years from now, he’ll resent me.
  • Just because we used to be perfect for each other doesn’t mean we’re perfect together now.

The GRAHAM Parts:

  • Graham: Nothing about you is unimpressive.
  • Graham: You are so fucking beautiful.
  • Graham: Be my wife, Quinn. Weather the category 5 moments with me.
  • Graham: I didn’t marry you just for the good years. I didn’t marry you just for the amazing chemistry we have. And I’d be foolish to think our marriage could last an eternity without a few tough moments. I know one thing with complete certainty, I love you more this year than any year that came before it. And as much as I promise to be your pillar of strength for as long as you need one. I’m sure I will sometimes fail you. My whole purpose in life is to make you happy and sometimes I feel like I’m unable to do that anymore. Sometimes I give up on myself. But I just pray that you don’t give up on me.
  • Graham: I promise to love you more when you’re hurting than when you’re happy.  I promise to love you more when we’re poor than when we’re swimming in riches. I promise to love you more when you’re crying than when you’re laughing. I promise to love you more when you’re sick than when you’re healthy. I promise to love you more when you hate me than when you love me.

Some lines from the book:

  • Sometimes when people change, it’s not always noticeable in a marriage, because the couple changes together, in the same direction. But sometimes people change in opposite direction.
  • The problem is, love and happiness are not concordant. One can exist without the other.
  • It’s hard to hold one to someone who has long since slipped away.
  • When you associate yourself with another person for so long, it’s difficult becoming your own person again.
  • Ten years from now on August eight, I’m going to roll over in our bed at midnight and whisper, ‘I told you so’ in your ear.
  • Smiling like he just conquered he world.
  • My husband’s heart is my saving grace.
  • He’s just the right amount of confident and cocky. But he balances that out with his reverent side. He’s funny and smart and he comes on way too strong, but it all feels so genuine.
  • Sadness is like a spiderweb. You don’t see it until you’re caught up in it, and then you have to claw at yourself to try to break free.
  • We’re all full of flaws. Hundreds of them. They’re like tiny holes all over our skin. Sometimes we shine too much light on our own flaws. But there are some people who try to ignore their own flaws by shining light on other people’s to the point that the other person’s flaws become their only focus.
