We went all the way to Kapitolyo because I didn’t know that there’s already one in Makati. Nonetheless, another restaurant off our Kapitolyo List.
They have this gloomy environment. In my opinion ofcourse. They have this yellow-ish light and the place wasn’t bright enough. The acoustics were awful. I can hear the table next to ours very loudly. And they are a rowdy crowd. But over all, I think they were trying to maintain the old, authentic vibe of a Vietnamese place.
Shrimp Pomelo Salad (Php 195) – Sweet pomelo and shrimp tossed in calamansi-sesame dressing surrounded by lobster cracker. It is best eaten when you place the greens and the shrimp on the cracker and eat it as a whole. I’m not much of a fan of sour tasting dressing though. Fresh Spring Roll (Php 195) – A mixture of ground pork, shrimp wrapped with dipping sauce. Vietnamese Rice (Php 90)
Chicken Curry (Php 250) – This is one delicious main entree! Though the parts of the chicken are not the best of the bunch.
After a heavy meal, coffee for us! 😀 Thank you for dinner, babe!
Epic Coffee is in my list too, of course.
The place looks so warm and cozy and it has a ‘bahay-bakasyunan” feel to it.
Chalk Board Menus are everywhere, on the counter and on their walls.
They also have home made icecreams. I want to go back and try!
My love ordered Caramel Macchiato (Php 100) – I think the coffee was good since he finished it in an instant.
While I ordered Epic Frappe (Php 145) – There was nothing Epic about it. It was okay. I actually wanted to try their Cookies and Cream Frappe but since this was named Epic Frappe, I assumed it was their specialty. There was nothing extravagant about it. I wasn’t able to finish it either.
Good Part? They provided books and I happen to like the book that I’m reading that we managed to stay til their closing time.
My First Favorite Restaurant in our Little Love at Kapitolyo. My Milky and Sunny. Yes, I’m claiming it. This little hole in the wall sunshine of a restaurant.
Isn’t it homey and bright and a feel-good place? Have you noticed they changed their walls? They used to hang paintings of little kids – I guess and little doodles on their wall. Now they hang of what they have in the menu. – though pictures tell a lot more than a bunch of description from the menu – I certainly liked the paintings even better – the paintings made the place look simple and homey than a bunch of pictures.
We were presented a whole new list of their menu. They added I think four or five new dish to the menu.
Of the New items, Jude picked the Oreo Banana French Toast (Php 180) – It had two bread, a well smashed banana in between, corn flakes on top which gives it the crunchy feeling, Chocolate syrup and some vanilla ice cream on top. What’s not good about it? Nothing. It was absolutely Yummy.
As you all know, No one can go wrong with Bacon. And I didn’t eat lunch so I was starving. Bacon will always be the best breakfast ever – not an opinion. It’s a fact. I ordered their Bacon Rice Meal (Php 130) – Bacon had generous serving toasted just the way I liked it. It wasn’t greasy, it didn’t taste charcoal either. You get to choose between a plain and garlic Rice. And might I say, their Garlic Rice is the best.
I will definitely go back again.
and again. and again.

After our wasted morning, We decided to head down to Kapitolyo and cross out one on our list: Ramen Cool. — I’ve always wanted to try this but my favorite person actually recently discovered Ramen through his colleagues. Blah blah. Still hate you.
Place was not crowded. It was bright and clean.
Yay! Couches. :))
Crabmeat Mixed Rice
And the quest continues! For our second month, exploring NAV
NAV has a well-lit room. The place was small but it is definitely bigger when seen from the inside.
If I’m not mistaken, They have around 6-7 tables. The waiters were very accommodating, friendly and informative.
Enchanted by this young man not a year ago.
We tried one of NAV’S starters – Fresh Vegetable Roll with Peanut Dip – Php 165.00 It was delicious. Not the oh-my-god type but it will definitely keep you from putting one after the other inside your mouth.
Now this is their Green Curry Chicken – Php 240.00. It was so good. Cream was smooth. You can taste the coconut and it was spicy too. Chicken bits was a bit small but I loved the sauce.
We ordered the NAV’s Bagoong Rice – Php 225.00. Yup, Bagoong Rice will always be his first pick. It was gooood. It was not too salty and not over empowering.
Now this is mt love’s favorite part. – Wok Fry Squid – Php 260.00 It was seriously yummy. It was sweet and crispy and chili all at the same time.
And for one of my favorite parts? Goodies from my Boyfriend! – Letters and chocolates.
Happy Second, My love.
