Let’s cut to the chase! We went to Evia Lifestyle Center for some l – o – b – s – t – e – r!!
For their welcome treats, they are giving this parmesan bread? which is bland? the flavors are just at the top and the bread is a bit dry inside.
We ordered the Honey and Blue Cheese Salad for Php 450 which I wasn’t able to take a picture. 😀 so we ordered some meat.
Chops New Orleans for Php 495 – Pork Chop, Shrimp, Cajun, Butter Sauce, Pico de Gallo and Wild Rice.
and a bit of Chicken Fingers and Shrimp Poppers for Php 450 with Honey Mustard
and the rockstar of the whole restaurant!! And Ultimate Feast for Php 2,500 each. Main Lobster Tail, Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp Scampi, Fries, Wild Rice, Veggies and Butter Sauce. I am all about the shrimp that’s why it caught my attention more than the crab!!
The ultimate feast is Good for 2. You can stretch it to three if you have other viands to share with. 😊
Happy sharing a feast with your family or your apecial someone. 😍
A proper date to celebrate what we normally wouldn’t celebrate. 😛 actually, just my excuse to try something new. 🙂
Pamana is a restaurant run by the Ongpaucos which highlights time tested family recipes that was handed down from one generation to another. It’s a classic Filipino dishes with somehow a twist.
The main dining hall is on the second floor. Though there are also a few tables outside and on the first floor. We opted to sit in the main dining room.
The hubby knows his way around the menu. It’s not his first time so when he says, it’s good. I trusted him. Here goes:
Crispy Adobong Pusit Calamares — Php 325 This dish deserves an astounding OH-MY-GOD with a very eaky squealing voice. This innovation is definitely one for the books. A must try and will surely be a repeat order every time. ❤ ❤
Okoy Bites – Php 225 Okay, this may not be completely new but I love that it’s in bite pieces already. It’s certainly still crispy but I would have wanted something with more meat or veggies in it.
Binagoongang Bagnet — Php 365 I am always down for some binaggongan. What I liked about this dish is how it remained crispy despite having some sauce at the bottom of the plate. I was disappointed however of how little sauce they provide. It seems the dish is just Bagnet, not Binagoongan.
I think there’s a lot of food to go around, that’s also the reason why there’s so much food left after we can barely eat another spoon.
With my hubby. ❤ ❤ ❤
Sometimes, only sometimes. . . we get to have employee benefits, only small ones. . and this time, we get to try the new Shake Shack before it opens to the public.
Shake Shack Philippines was brought by none other than the Tantoco Family. It’s located in Central Square, BGC.
I ordered the Single Shack Burger for Php 250 which is amazinnggg. It was juicy and delicious but compared to the one in NYC that I tried, the size is a bit smaller. And you can never eat a burger without fries right? I ordered the Regular Fries for Php 130. But the one I couldn’t refuse is Salted Caramel Milkshake for Php 190. Simply, THE BOMB. I can down the whole thing if only it didn’t give me a brain freeze. 😀
When the long line is over, I’d like to try again with my judey. 😀
It’s this somewhat obscure place along Sucat, Paranque. It’s not hidden, the signage is screaming from the road but I never noticed this place until now. OR, it’s probably the wing hater in me that prevented me to see. Haha.
The place is not complicated, basically just tables and chairs. It’s a bit messy, plastics here and there. The dips / sauce is smeared on the tables.
They have no Ala Carte, all our unlimited with different price points and you get to enjoy 12 different flavors. 😀 If you’re not screaming for joy, then I don’t know what is wrong with you. 😛 It’s Php 206 for Unli Wings and Rice!
We had only 3 sets and you can order a bunch of flavors in 1 set already. 😀 and we are full by the third set!
And the aftermath . . . .
I mostly enjoyed the company of my best friends which I normally don’t get to see. 😛
The boyfriend will definitely enjoy this. ❤
You have no idea how thrilled I am to finally posting another Kapitolyo Food Find! ❤ Kapitolyo has long been my first food discovery and it’s been TOO long! and this is no other than . . . .
So I thought it’s a self service type since a counter greeted us when we walked in. . .
There’s graffiti and vandals on the wall full of drawings, quotes and what not. It’s actually quite spacious! When we got there about 12:30 nn, there’s only a few tables occupied but it gradually filled up quite fast. And to our surprise, there’s even tables outside. . .
I am guessing this is really packed with people during Friday or at night, filled with people downing their beers. Let’s get to the food.
Mount Nachos – Php 195 Tortilla chips drizzled in cheese and their home made BBQ sauce topped with sliced jalapenos and pulled pork bits. Pulled Pork is ❤
Rib Mountain Small (Php 275) This small order is already good for two. For us, it’s more than 1 but not enough for 2. 😀 Their home made BBQ is perfect for their ribbbssss. ❤
We are both happy, full and definitely satisfied with the price = value for money. ❤ Definitely coming back!
Since our weekends are mostly occupied with wedding preps – and although I love them and the Hubby to be, it can be quite tiring and overwhelming. And sometimes, I just need to step away from all that. Thus, our occasional leaves for a date day. ❤
The date, I suppose is bound for another post altogether. But here, let’s dive deep into our stomachs.
The place has a Filipino inspired surroundings, especially the ceilings. I love how vibrant and sunny the place is and how it faces the water. It gets a little too hot though during lunchtime since the sun is at its peak, but beautiful view nonetheless.
We ordered the Lechon Sinigang at Php 299. I enjoyed the soup since I wanted something hot though it’s not something I would order again. The meat is more of 80% bone and 20% meat. I particularly am not fond of meat that’s pale cause I feel like it’s not cooked. There was only a handful of veggies there.
Next, we ordered Lechon Sisig at Php 285. I know, one would think not to order (2) Lechon entree. But what can I do, the boyfriend insists. Absolutely loved this. It was crispy and unlike other sisigs, there are no small bones – which I usually stay away from. Pair this with Toyomansi with a bit of sili and you’re set. ❤
Last but not the least, Bantayan Baked Scallops at Php 299. You will never go wrong with baked scallops oozing with garlic & cheese. ❤ ❤ ❤
We also ordered their Leche Flan at Php 47. But I have no proof of it so forget about it. It was delicious tho.
Overall, I only regret ordering the Lechon Sinigang. The waiters? they are attentive once they see. The problem is the way the area is built. Waiters cannot see the entire place where they’re staying so we had to wait for someone to pass by every time.
It’s been a while since I posted about food. You noticed? We don’t actually have the time to try out new ones or the boyfriend is lazy.
Good thing I have officemates willing to lunch out. ❤
The first time I tried commune, it was actually with Jude and we only had coffee and cookies at that time – which was good. So this time, we had their mains.
I tried their Kimchi Fried Rice for Php 300
Kimchi Fried Rice serced with crispy spam fries and fried egg
My officemate loved it but it was just okay for me. I loved the spam, it really was crispy. I had to ask the waiter to have the egg well done because I don’t eat the gooeeyyy yellow. I loved that it came with bokchoy. ❤ but the rice was just o-kay.
Beef Tapa for Php 305
I tasted their Tapa and it was yum-my. It didn’t taste like one — that’s maybe the reason why I liked it. Most of the time, I will never order a tapa.
Chicken Pork Adobo for Php 265
The serving of the meat was pretty generous but most importantly, it was super tender. I will order this next time. 🙂
Bangus Ala Pobre for Php 290
It’s boneless and it was huge.
We also ordered desserts! ❤
Oreo Cheesecake for Php 200
Choco Lava Cake for Php 160
It was a bit dry. I was expecting it to be runny and moist and full of chocolate.
Food and place was pretty instagrammable. ❤ I will definitely bring Jude here again to try out other rice meals.
Little did you know, there’s a nice rooftop restaurant inside Lub’d building in Poblacion.
I love the hanging lamps of the place, it was clean and sunny inside.
The service was a bit slow. The food was served about 25 – 30 minutes after we placed our order.
We ordered the following:
Sardine and Clam Pasta for Php 250
local clam and sardine confit with a wine sauce served with spaghetti & parmesan cheese.
There were a lot of clams – but I don’t eat clams so I gave it to my friends but the tomatoes and the sardines is enough. The taste was superb and the serving was huge.
Chicken and Pork Adobo for Php 250
The serving was huge but it was bland and the meat’s semblance is bubblegum.
Roasted Chicken Curry Stew for Php 245
Roasted Chicken in japanese curry, zucchini, carrots served with japanese rice.
It was quite tasteful but I think I wouldn’t be able to finish the whole plate if it was the only thing I was eating.
Waiters were friendly and accommodating but we only encountered something unpleasant when my officemate found a hair on her plate of curry. They willingly changed the whole plate and was quick to act.
It was okay but there’s no urge to go back.
I’ll always choose to go to a new place. Luckily, there’s something within the vicinity of our sale event. We asked what their best sellers are and….. it sure was!! 😀
The place was vibrant, pefect for their 24/7 service concept.
We ordered the Chorizo con Pasta for Php 250 – Pomodoro sauce, olives, chorizo, cilantro and parmesan)
You have to take note though that I’m definitely not a chorizo type of girl but dannngg, this one won my <3!! It was absolutely delicious!
We also ordered Pasta Verde for Php 250 – Chicken, Cilantro, Lemon and Parmesan)
It was a bit dry — bbut probably it’s because of all the parmesan but I still find it a bit bland. I liked the chorizo better.
For pizza, we ordered the Pizza Peruvia for Php 390 – Marinara and BBQ Sauce, BBQ Pulled Pork, Onions, bell peppers, mozarella cheese, chimichurri and arugula
Let me tell you that yes, it looked absolutely normal, standard but heyyy! that chihmuchurri as an additional topping made it their best sellers. ❤
It will definitely not be my last! I will take the boyfriend here. ❤ Good job, cocina!
He wanted wine, and wine we had. It’s already a given that we have to eat pasta so we head to Pasto. There were no customers so we happily chose a seat next to the window.
Ghamberi Pasta – Php 265
IT’s an olive oil based fetuccine with garlic sauteed shrimps, asparagus spears and fresh diced tomatoes.
The pasta wasn’t dry but i think it lacked a bit of taste. I also asked for additional parmesan, and they obliged with no additional charge. I was happy about that. 🙂
Margherita Pizza – Php 215
Classic italian combination of fresh tomatoes, mozarella and basil.
Hmm. It’s okay. It’s how you’d imagine a margherita pizza should be but there was no oomph.
Straw yellow color with golden reflections , intense aroma, fruity with citrus notes.
I probably had high expectations of the place thus leaving me with regret.
Don’t be mistaken. The food and service is okay. But I just expected more.
Now that we’ve tried parking in powerplant and walking all the way to poblacion, the plan is to chase all the new restaurants there BUT since there was a heavy downpour, we blamed the risk of having wet and dirty shoes, we stayed inside the mall.
Good thing, Mighty Quinn saves the day! Have you tried going around the new wing? This one is near Mary Grace and the newly opened and first sit down-stall of Carmen’s Best.
Might Quinn as you might have heard is one of most raved coming from the acclaimed New York City and cooks the traditional way with wood and with patience of time.
We tried the 2 Meat Combo with (2) Sides for Php 450
2 Meat Combo with (2) Dirty Rice enough for 2. ❤
We also ordered for Fries for Php 120
Iced Tea and Lemonade both for Php 110 each
Successfully so, Might Quinn is delicious! ❤
If you happen to be in Venice Piazza, you should make it a point to pass by Seol Bang! Couples, Barkada, Children or may it be adults, you have a place here!
We ordered the following:
Dak Galbi at Php 238 Stir fried chicken with veggies in chili sauce and rice
Beef Bulgogi at Php 289 Thin slices of beef with Jap Chae noodles and rice.
Chicken Teriyaki – less than Php 200 included in their lunch specials
Pan Seared Pork – less than Php 200 included in their lunch specials
Triple Berry Cheesecake at Php 288 Small
Mango Cheesecake at Php 268
Almond Lychee Bingsu – about to be launched
You cannot go here and not try Bingsu cause why the hell are you there in the first place, right? You cannot judge them by their rice meals, I have to be honest though – it’s not that great though it’s not awful at the same time. But if you are looking for something worth your buck? then you can definitely order their rice meals. It is packed with rice and energy and all the carbohydrates in the world.
The shaved ice is full of flavor already. You can actually order the ice and you’d still be pleased! Take note, I don’t eat anything berry but wow. we were able to finish all three. ❤ Good Job, Seol!
We had troubles finding his place but if you know where Tambai is, just go straight and you’ll find this gem at the farthest end.
The place is a but cramped and can sit about 10 – 20 people at a time, 10 with tables and 10 at the counter where it’s also a good spot since you can see your food being prepared.
They have their menu at per piece so you if you really want to dive in and try their whole menu at an affordable price, you can. ❤
Small Shrimps at Php 45
They are at a decent size already, not too small and full of flavor already.
Jumbo Shrimps at Php 120
The size is big but not extraordinarily giant in size.
Kani Tempura at Php 30
I’ve always loved deep fried crab sticks just like how we do it at home.
Beef and Mango Tempura at Php 60
Strangely unique and a mix of salty and sweetness. I’d prefer if it was not wrapped in seaweed. I would have enjoyed it much better. Thus, the boyfriend took me out of my misery of being guilty since I was the one who wanted to try this one.
Ebi 10 Chahan Rice at Php 150
Of course we tried the fried rice named after the restaurant because you cannot pass that up. Right? It’s good for sharing but I think the portion sizing is good for 1.5 only.
I will definitely come back. I’m always up for deep fried seafood goodness. ❤
For months since they opened, I have been requesting the boyfriend to bring me here. And traitor as he is, he went here without me on his time. TSSS. And much as his conscience can take, he finally brought me here.
They have parking lots ready for the hungry beavers so don’t fret. The place is spacious too and has lots of tables and can sit about 60 to 80, I guess. We got here at about 11:30 am and we were one of the first tables before it got crowded.
Since I am really not a big fan of lechon skin and bones in general, I pleaded to order the Boneless Lechon.
Boneless Lechon, Small – Php 320 BUT I still tried the skin. It was nice and crispy. Meat was full of taste. It’s paired dip, soy sauce + vinegar with onions and chili. But I also prefer what they call liver sauce but tastes much like Mang Tomas. 😀
Baked Scallops – Php 250 Local scallops topped with butter, cheese and garlic. This has always been a favorite and glad the boyfriend liked it too! He even ate most of it. 😀 haha.
Ensaladang Talong – Php 150 Grilled Eggplant and Tomato salad with vinaigrette dressing. Because we are pretentious enough to order this to have something to balance the lechon. Who are we kidding? HAHA.
No other than the person who I want to get highblood with. ❤ Thank you for ditching me on your first try and bringing me here, anyway.
P.S. I want to go back and try Paksiw na Zubuchon, Zubuchon Flakes, Sizzling Stuffed Squid, Tortang Alimasag, Gambas and Sinigang na lechon! ❤
When we want korean food but not in the mood to pig out — KAYA! It’s where we get our reliable dose of Beef Stew and Sizzling Squid. ❤
CHULPAN OJINGO / Sizzling Garlic Squid for Php 265
This dish is looming with chili garlic! I can just top anything with their garlic. Squid is also tender and have zero bubble gum features.
KALBI JIM / Beef Stew for Php 295
It’s the melts-in-your-mouth beef tenderness! I just wish that there are less bones. I’d rather have full meat. The sauce though is a viand on its own, pair it with rice? Suree!
BOYFRIEND – Equally tender and yummy. 😀 HAHAHA.
