When I was in the middle of my Strama Class, most weekends were spent at each other’s houses – writing my paper, editing my powerpoint, learning my financials and so on.. I’m just really grateful how helpful and understanding the boyfriend is when it comes to our dates — which is mostly spent in coffee shops with a laptop in tow.
So, one particular saturday – spent at my house doing strama — we decided to dine out for dinner at BF — Ramen Kuroda.
See their menu:
The boyfriend ordered the Gyoza + Aka Ramen for Php 320 since he likes the Gyoza.
While I, having no choice but to order the Teriyaki + Shiro Set for Php 320
Since it’s so practical to order the Set Menu, we did. If you are planning to treat others, Ramen Kuroda is practical. 😀
On a constant food hunt along Aguirre Avenue. As I struggled to convince him to stroll along BF for some dinner on a Weekday (traffic is unimaginable during weekdays), along with my almost zero charm, I was able to convince him.
We were the first to arrive on a Tuesday Night. Ergo, I was able to take a picture of the place. Just like any other hole in the wall restaurant along Aguirre, the area was just one straight place, where you can see it end to end. Although, there are a lot of ‘semi-quotes’ on the wall perfect for your Instagram posts.
My date ordered the Large Size of Wings for Php 200 in Crazy Chick Special Sauce.
I ordered the Medium Size Tenders for Php 160 in Honey BBQ Sauce. It was tasty but it had too much – there’s room for ‘sawa’, if I may say.
We were luck enough to stroll down the streets of Aguirre and stumble upon an empty parking lot of Puzzles. Which was always, always full during weekends. We took advantage of our luck! Wooden Tables, Couches and Colorful Plastic Tools decorate the whole place. Quotes hang on perfect frames across the white wall. And on the other side of the room, ofcourse a whole scatter of board games can be chosen.
Self Service type, you will encounter a slightly deformed attitude on the counter. And as metaphors are in line for puzzles, you may expect a fire breathing dragon waiting for you to pay. They are less friendly than they ought to be.
Anyway, we ordered for the Honey Sriracha Chicken Panini — Php 210 I never liked ham during new years, and it somehow reminded me of Christmas!
And what a delightful present if it really was christmas! We both loved this particular panini! ALTHOUGH, the chips we would’ve guessed that it’s been take out of the bag too soon.
We also ordered the Grilled Chicken Pesto Pasta — Php 190. It tasted like it’s trying too hard to create a pesto from scratch — that it turned out as a disaster.
And a side of Sur-fries — Php 90. It was seasoned with pepper. It was o-kay. It was yumm-my as how kids would say but nothing really quite different to its taste.
We were the only ones at the store, and we weren’t really in the mood to play since most of the games require 4 to 5 participants. We will come back with friends!
Okayyyy! So Nitrogen Icecream Shop I was talking to you about is located in BF, Aguirre of course. It was always full, probably because it’s still relatively new, but we’ll see. They do nor accept reservations especially on weekends so you better get there early enough to grab some seats long before the long line sees the dawn.
Bad decisions make good stories — definitely! 😀
I love the interiors! There’s a huge graffiti wall on the side and at the back. It can serve as a backdrop. 😀
And now for our orders, we ordered all the four flavors. 😀
Cookie Monster — Php 150. Do not be misled by the color, that’s not bubblegum. Plain Icecream drizzled generously with sprinkles.
Milo — Php 150 Milo Icecream topped with cocoa powder and hinted with a syringe of chocolate syrup.
Tiramisu — Php 150 Tiramisu Icecream topped with Cocoa Powder matched with some broas.
Vegemite — Php 150 Least likable of all. It tasted somewhat sour.
But the Milo though was really intensely good. You should try it. BTW, they also have dishes like burgers and chickens and pasta! :))
Hiiiii! So life is fair after all! 😀 This, I guess would be the first time the group traveled outside Makati. Finally seems to be the appropriate word. Yes? And the world turns because the odds are in my favor since it’s 15 minutes away from my comforting bed.
Our late lunch was at Bi Won.
We were at Bi Won around 4 in the afternoon and we were literally the only customer so we took advantage and sat on one of their private rooms. Air-conditioning were only opened when we arrived so it was more like we were being cooked alive in there rather than us, having lunch. I love korean so no doubt, it was all in my favor. :))
After which, I brought them to the newly opened Nitrogen Icecream Store and ordered 3 flavors; Cookie Monster, Milo and Tiramisu. Milo was the king of all nitrogens.
And we’re not done. Went to go grab some drinks after. Oh how I miss it. 5 more pitchers until college please? I miss not being sober. Haha. What a fun day!
When we do celebrate birthdays, it’s always with an extended family. It’s usually the set up for Filipinos.
And in my family, we’re always 13-14 people. I’m on a tight budget here and my awesome mom celebrated her birthday as well last 17. So we decided to celebrate it together.
My mom thinks that a Chinese Cuisine is always best.
King Fish in Taosi Dauce
Yang Chow Rice
We also had Crispy Shrimp and for dessert, we had Almond Lychee
Yup! It’s on my list too! And I asked my Mom if she can treat us. And she obliged happily.
Tito Chef has about 4 parkings butthey do have another lot just for parking.
The place was well lit, chairs were modern white and they do have a second floor. Upon entering the place, you will notice a small room to your left where they sell their products like kitchen utensils and baking materials.
There, you will also find a display of their cakes. Ooohh.
Menu. Time to order!(((:
My order: Barbecued Chicken Jambalaya Php 265 – Chicken was regular sized, normal roasted taste and well, I liked the rice. It was rich in flavor.
I think this is new. I forgot how much this is. Chicken Teriyaki – rice was topped with crispy seaweeds.
Surf and Turf Php 455 – steak topped with shrimp.
Pesto Prawn Spaghetti Php 285 Pasta was plain. There was no other condiments other than the two shrimps.
And now for desserts?
Nutella Sansrival Php 150 – It was good though it’s not whoaahh. Nutella was not really distinguished from the dish.
Bannoffee Pie Php 130 – It was okay. The banana cuts were so big. You’re not going to enjoy it. The cream on top was not that sweet and breading on the first layer was so thin.:/
Verdict: nothing really special for the price of their food. It was okay but not outstanding.
Apache is operational for 6 mos now. They used to be open above Starbucks in President’s Avenue but now they transferred here in Aguirre.
Their theme? Indians.
They also have wooden chairs and tables. They have around 6 tables and it’s a self service counter.
Too bad there was someone sitting there. We actually wanted to have our group picture having it as a background. 😔
Meet two of my HS Bestfriends – kat and atria.
My order? Indian Bear Chops for Php 155 for 2pcs. They have however, 1pc for Php 115. It’s very sulit though. It may not seem huge but they have a large serving.
Home Blended Iced Tea for Php 60 bottomless
If you want to catch up with your friends, this can definitely be the place to meet. It wasn’t crowded, place was well lit, friendly service, affordable price, generous serving and they have a bar beside it if you’d want to drink after.((:
