Even now, I cannot fathom the next words I will be typing…. I’VE BEEN TO NEW YORK! 🙂 I am officially in love with the city. One cannot erase what you’ve seen and experience.

So to start telling my story… Undoubtedly, we land in JFK Airport from LAX.

We boarded an airtrain from JFK Airport. An airtrain links you to the MTA New York City buses and subways which will basically take you all around the city. We spent $8.00 for the card. After alighting from the airtrain, we boarded an MTA train again to go to our Airbnb.

It was a Sunday when we arrive but we were so hungry. It was raining and it’s 9 degree Celsius. :/ So we decided to eat first at Starbucks and head for mass. Can you guess where? …. SAINT PATRICK’S CATHEDRAL

It is decorated with Neo-Gothic style. It is the seat of the archbishop of NY located on the east side of Fifth Ave between 50th and 51st streets in midtown manhattan, directly across from Rockefeller Center.

The church was majestic. It looked so classic an vintage and elite all at the same time. The carvings were carefully done and very intricate.

And, since I’ve mentioned awhile ago that the cathedral is across from Rockefeller Center…

Also one of the most famous landmarks in NYC, it’s running on 22 acres that features 19 commercial buildings. It is also a popular destination for all the events happening in the city. Do you remember the Home Alone 2 scene where Kevin McCallister is standing infront of a giant christmas tree and wishing for his family to return? well, that’s where this is. The famous lighting of the Christmas Tree every year that is being aired all over the world? It’s here. You can actually also go up, TOP OF THE ROCK where you can see the skyline of the city. But for us, we didn’t go there since we will be doing that at the Empire State Building — which is due for another post.

So after we’re settled in our Airbnb, which is at Upper East Side (well, hello elites), we head out for some lunch. and since we were dead tired from all the walking, we decided to stop by the nearest restaurant we could find from where our Airbnb is. It left us with… trying our first and last NYC Pizza.

It’s a self service restaurant with pizza pans lined in front of the counter so you can choose what flavor you like. And I tell you, 1 slice is enough for 1 or 2 persons!

After our late lunch.. we head to THE MET  and ohmygod. Who here watches Gossip Girl and their famous MET Steps? and only the coolest and most IT girls are allowed to seat at THE steps. Haha. (Feeding my college heart with Gossip Girl Achievements! ❤ )

Even the streets leading to the museum is Insta-worthy. When we were walking to the museum, we could see there were 2 V-E-R-Y long lines on each end where the entrance is. BUT, BUT, but.. the lines move pretty quickly! so, don’t fret. Though, I suggest you go in the morning so you can take a look around more. The museum is huge.

20180212_040127DSCF0666DSCF0687So, I have to tell you that once you’re inside — you’ll be overwhelmed with how much people are there in the lobby trying to get in line to get a ticket! But here’s the deal: my brother found a machine where you can buy your tickets. The suggested price is $20.00 so that’s what we paid for.

So, my favorite part of the museum is… the one with all the God Statues.

Some of the other parts of the museum…

After hours of looking at everything spectacular, we uber-red back to Airbnb and went to K-TOWN .  We ate at KANG HO DONG BAEKJONG in K-Town which received a two thumbs up from Anthony Bourdain.

I don’t exactly know what we ordered but everything was good. All korean food is G-DOUBLE O -D Good. After a festive dinner, we head to the very lit and eye poppin TIMES SQUARE

Everything is so colorful and bright and sunny and alive and active… This is why the city absolutely never sleeps. There are random people performing, friends having a night out and just-all-sorts-of-people. ❤

Okay! So you I know you’ve seen the M&M Store in facebook right? and the Hershey’s Store where all the giant chocolates are? We went there! 😀

I swear I loved New York on Day 1!

Mistakes are only proof that one is trying.

When the boyfriend couldn’t pick me up since he’ll be coming from Binondo. 😦

This was never the plan. — But of course, it’s the ones we don’t plan that turns out to be pretty amazing. Right? It’s one hell of a work though. We arrived at around 6pm and got settled about 7pm.

Fanning, Blowing, Lighting pieces of newspaper, Re-arranging the wood for 3 whole hours just to catch a spark – to make fire. It’s EXHAUSTING & Fulfilling at the same time! The food was cooked around 10:30 pm!

It’s really a nice wake up call, opening your eyes to see majestic mountains right outside our tent & the beach within 30 steps far. The boys had their fun. The bathroom was a bit tricky, that’s the reason why I was lazy to swim. 😀

Would you look at that? Right? 😀

Sometimes, you just need an adventure to cleanse the bitter taste of life.

Until next time, Anawangin. ❤

Poblacion Crawl it is! Now trying Smokeyard in Poblacion!

We all ordered their Lunch Special of Pulled Pork with Iced Tea and Rice for only Php 125.

It was deadly satisfying! Pulled Pork was tasty and filling at the same time and was affordable too.

Lunch Group was appeased and gratified!

Since the mother is out of our radius, lunch outs are more frequent. 🙂 Wendy suggested this Wingshack but after trying them out, I WARN YOU NOT TO.

The place was a bit small, just like the other hole in the walls in the area. Inside its shack can fit about 4 tables of 4.

We got there, observed the menu and tried to order:

TACOS – All of them are not available

BURGER – Not available

CHICKEN TENDERS – Not available.

All we are left with is their WINGS. I know it’s a wings place but what if we wanted to try all sorts from their menu? And they only have 1 freakin food in their menu that’s available!!

We were there at 12:15 pm. They open at 12nn. Shouldn’t they be there at 11 am to prepare the food already? We ordered our food at 12:20 – Wings. We were served after more than an hour! Food was not even hot, not even warm! Food was served at 1:30 pm. Some portions of the plate was wet, sauce was bland, food was cold. None of it was a good enough experience!

Hayy. We all ordered Wings with the following Sauces:

Beer BBQ

Spicy K-Town

Sweeracha and Buffalo Style.

All four of us was disappointed.

Because we don’t actually have anything planned for the night.

Relish Special Sisig for Php 295. No wonder they attached their name to this dish. It was crispy and it certainly was special.

Behold the Chimichurri Chickenn Kebab for Php 395 – Boneless Chicken Chunks marinated in their special chimchurri sauce, skewered with onions and tomatoes served with aoili sauce. Not a fan of chicken BUT, I happened to finish this dish somehow.

But good lord, had an awesome time with this guy. Dinner and Massage with the LOML.

1 week notice from Anne Marie and this happened. It will be the first wedding in our group.<3 Surreal.

Congratulations, braid. :*  Hoping to finally meet the very quiet and timid Reggie.

** I don’t even know why very clear and sharp pictures from Iphone appears to be really blurry when uploaded here. 😦

Beerpong and Condo after. 😀

Thank you for everyone who made my birthday special. Thank you babe for all the surprises, gifts and effort. I love you so much.

VENICE: For 2017

I don’t have the perfect resolutions right now, I don’t even have a clear picture of what my goals are for this year. But all I know, or all I can assure right now —- is that I’ll somehow be a better version of myself. It may be a little, a lot, a bit in some areas.. but I’ll be a better one.
